That sounds great!

I'll show you mine if you show me yours! :D

See you in the Haven waiting area.

Your more then welcome to come by anytime, I am in 9916. The balcony is amazing. I have stayed in the H4 before, the rooms are almost identical except for the 2nd bedroom (I have a 2nd bathroom in the spot you have the 2nd bedroom). I should be at the port around 10:30-10:40, what time are you getting there?

Hi all and HELP!! We took the two bedroom family suite (H4) on Norwegian pearl New Year's Eve sailing!! So excited but 1) we have never sailed Norwegian and 2) not sure I fully grasp the amenities 3) we prepaid gratuities for our mini suite so can someone PLEASE tell me what we do in the haven tip wise !!!??? Do I leave the pre paid in place and then tip extra cash in haven? Also, do I tip every time someone brings us something or at the end? Also, I have the drink pkg can I use that in the haven? Is there a bar? A real newbie (not to sailing) just to haven and Norwegian so any any help is appreciated! Is there a white party?? What is that? Also, New Year's Eve (I hear it's not a dressy cruise line)but we booked at cagneys and (silly question) but can we really dress without looking crazy heck it's NYE - right!?? Thanks!!!

Perks include daily snacks, escort on and off the ship (including ports), free pay per view, you can search haven/suite amenities for the complete list.

Leave your tips in place and also count in extra tips for your butler and concierge, $5-$10 per person per day seems to be the norm.

Yes you can use the UBP every place except the ice bar (have not been on the pearl so I do not know if they have haven bar/restaurant) or for martini tastings/bar hops or for room service. You can preorder drinks to you room (you will be charged for that though)

I think the white party has been changed to the glow party (think neon colors).

As far as NYE people will definatley be dressed so you will not be out of place.

Congrats! You will love the Pearl Haven as it's soo relaxing. Yes, leave the prepaid service charges in tact but the butler and concierge do not receive anything from that so you should tip them for sure. The norm seems to be about $5-10pp per day for both but you should decide what you feel comfortable paying according to how much you use them. It's best to tip them at the end of the cruise. There is no bar in the haven but I think you can order a drink but that wouldn't be covered on the drink pkg. The white hot party has been changed to.. (slips my mind) but yes there is one. You can dress entirely formal or not it's up to you and you will see quite a variety. The best perk is break/lunch in Moderno and priority emb/disembarkation and tenders. You will be taken the back way to avoid the lines.:D

Happy cruising and Happy New Year! Bon Voyage!

Someone types faster than me. :)

I am pretty sure that if you order a drink while sitting in the Haven on the Jewel class ships that it is covered under the UDP. It is the same as if you ordered a drink anywhere on the ship, like the show room. It doesn't cover room service, so you couldn't order a drink to have delivered to your room, but I'm pretty sure that in the Haven itself it is covered.

Anyone know for sure?

so for a 10 day cruise with one adult and two kids you would tip a Butler 10x 10 x3 = $300 that's ridiculous

Even in the owners suite if you order a drink from the Butler you pay (last week) that's with UBP

Congrats to your wife and Thanks! I was already 28 years cancer free from childhood Leukemia, so this is one more notch in my belt. :p And this go 'round I was able to keep my hair because I used the cold cap therapy during each treatment. A week after the cruise I get my new boobs.:D

I am so happy for you!!! I think you were suppose to be on our November cruise, so this is such a nice thing to hear! You so deserve the Haven and everything else your heart desires. 14 days and the Haven, this is the way to celebrate! You all will be so spoiled. We upgraded to the courtyard back in November and just loved it. If you have any questions let me know.. You have to do a picture review!

We are heading back on the Breakaway for Bermuda in the beginning of June. We got a large balcony minisuite this time around and with plans of Vibe won't be looking for the upsell this time.. For cooler months and tendering it was worth it! I will miss that espresso machine. Do you drink coffee? Ahhh, I abused that thing. LOL!

Yes! You are right! We were supposed to be on your November sailing. I was shocked when my DH did this. We will definitely enjoy the Haven, its something I never would have done myself. I would be good with a balcony, especially a large one. And yes, we LOVE our coffee. I guess we won't need Vibe with the Haven, but we may try and stop by to say Hi to Noel and Leon.

I plan on doing a picture review, I may even try and do a live Q and A....but we'll see. :D

I tip what I tip, you tip well .... Whatever you want but I will tell you there is a reason I always receive amazing service. It is what it is.

How much should we tip the Butler, Concierge, and the Room Steward? We're putting together the tip envelopes. We've never stayed in the Haven before and have only had a steward. Except for the one cruise where we somehow were VIP, we gave the concierge $40 to do nothing. We usually give the steward $100 or so for 7 nights.

I give the room steward $100 for a week, the concierge $100 a week since I do not use them much just the back elevator mostly, but my butler I always go between $300 & $400 a week depending on how I do in the casino, I did give him $500 in August because that morning I hit a jackpot and I had the adjoining balcony cabin to my suite and he took great care of my brothers kids. Mind you I use the same butler on every cruise no matter where I am located on the ship (kind of feel bad for whatever butler really has that section but the concierge knows how fond we are of him so he makes it happen) and he has always bended over backwards for us though I do not ask for much. He will always have my favorite snacks in my room before I board, If he sees me in a hallway carrying anything in my hands he will snatch it and say, ok where are we going? He also put a nice bottle of Moët in my luggage on the weekender last month. I realize he is not the norm but he has always been outstanding with my family and I always reciprocated in turn.

I do not even email a food list over to the pre-concierge anymore because he knows what we like, what time we like it etc. The only thing I request through the preconcierge is a cooler filled with ice (for the balcony) and extra down pillows for the couch (for watching movies).

If I were you I would probably tip the butler $250-$300 for the 2 weeks as I am sure as soon as they know you have a child with you he will provide kid friendly snacks and do not be afraid to call them if you decide to do a movie night and order popcorn, chips & salsa, fruit, really whatever their heart desires. My nephew asked him for strawberries dipped in sugar and it appeared in our room a few times that week. A good butler will make note of your likes and dislikes (based on what gets sent back uneaten) and will adjust accordingly.

When I ordered drinks through the Haven valet, it's always covered under UBP, even if I was not sitting in the Haven courtyard at the time of the order.

If you stay in one of the 4 H3 Owner Suites (deck 9+10 front corners), you are not physically located in the Haven even though you have full access of the Haven.

However, when you are actually physically in the Haven, if you order your drinks through the Haven valet, they are included in the UDP.

It's the main reason I prefer H4s over H3s (if the two H1s are booked up) on the Jewel Class ships nowadays. It's quite a walk to get from the H3s to the Haven and Cagney.
