hfeltcruiser Posted December 31, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2015 This summer we will be traveling on one of the smaller Royal ships however this time we will have a passenger that will be 18, my daughters boyfriend. My daughter is 17 and enjoys the teen clubs however this time her boyfriend is possibly too old to participate in the 15-17 club? Does anyone have experience with this dilemma? Would be appreciated :)
Clarea Posted December 31, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2015 They usually don't let 18 and over into the teen club.
gerif Posted December 31, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 31, 2015 Sorry, not permitted. The only exception I've ever heard is in the case where the 18 year old can show high school id and have seapass changed to give up privileges such as the casino and disco normally afforded an 18 year old. Of course, this would be at the sole discretion of the youth coordinator.

Langley Cruisers Posted December 31, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2015 Welcome, hfeltcruiser. It is for everyone's benefit that this rule is in place. Remember that there is quite a difference in a 15 year old and an 18 year old.
dcgrumpy Posted December 31, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 31, 2015 My son said there were a few 18 year-olds in the teen club on Indy this past September. He said they were allowed because they had younger siblings in the club and there weren't many teens on the cruise.
cindivan Posted December 31, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 31, 2015 As with so many other questions, just like consultants will say, it depends. Our oldest son at one point was 18 and he showed his high school ID and was able to get into teen club. And then also the casino. He didn't forfeit anything by showing his high school ID as far as anything else.

newbiecruiser09 Posted December 31, 2015 #10 Share Posted December 31, 2015 It is probable best you contact RCL to get an accurate answer. And even then it may depend on who you talk to at Royal and also what the ship's staff has to say-they would be the final answer.
Rare Lionesss Posted December 31, 2015 #11 Share Posted December 31, 2015 According to the guidelines not permitted. But it's been known to happen that some teens ( not mentioning anyone's DD) have been known to smuggle someone in the back door [emoji15] And told parental units about it. Years later of course. Safe travels.

Absolutely. You will get a variety of answers if you call RC. You just need to get on board and present your case and on board staff will make the decision. Nothing you can do before to affect the decision. Edited January 1, 2016 by cindivan

Would be appreciated :) Everyone is telling you that it might be ok, etc. However, what you daughter enjoyed in the past, will no longer be in the picture. Your daughter will be with her boyfriend and they will be hanging out together, and the kiddy club will not be an issue. They will be a couple on the ship, on the sundeck, eating in the buffet, and basically just enjoying themselves. ( I speak from experience).
