Dear Carnival .... Pet Peeves

Just returned from the Dec 27th sailing on the Sunshine.

If you were to write to Carnival to ask them to improve a certain aspect of the cruise experience, what would you suggest.

Mine would start with the following:

- Ban smoking in the casinos

- better control over people that want to have long, loud conversations outside my room during nighttime or nap time (thanks to people in cabin 9169)

- ban large human beings from being able to spend over 6 hours in the serenity hot tub with non stop buckets of beer served (I think you know what I'm getting at).

- please please please STOP doing the Wobble song/dance

Anybody else have something?

Can't do away with the wobble! My husband gets drunk and dances to it (he's NOT a dancer!) and it's the Best. Thing. Ever. I love it!

We are a family of 4 two kids (8and13)We also cruised the Sunshine the 27th, my pet peeve is the lack of hot tubs and pools. 3 hot tubs is simply not enough for a ship this size and only one in the Serenity area is ridiculous at best, only twice was I able to enjoy once at 7 am and 8pm as that was when they were relatively empty. And please heat the Serenity pool no one enjoys a cold dip!

Also, the free champagne served on New Year's needs to end. The amount of drunk underage drinkers because of the free champagne caused quite a few altercations two of which I witnessed with teenagers mouthing off to adults and reaching onto tables to grab drinks. It is not worth it, the champagne is not even very good and I am sure the adults can do without it to reduce the kids getting drunk. Of course, this leads into the pet peeve of supremely bad parenting of which you see alot of on this holiday cruises.

Other than that this ship has the best food I have had at Sea the choices are endless and tasty. We would go back as we really like this ship and we have cruised the Breeze, which we also loved and would go back.

Last cruise there was a 7 year old boy who would run from pool to slide to hot tub and jump in splashing everyone. We asked him where his parents were at and he said they were in the room napping. That's too young to be running around by yourself. Next day there were about 10 kids in each hot tub along with a mom and diapered baby. I just want to relax and soak for a few minutes.

For the loud talkers, did you give Guest Services a call? We called once when there was loud music in the cabin next to ours (at 3am) and they resolved the situation immediately. We didn't have any issues the rest of the cruise and Guest Services even followed up with us about it the next day to make sure all was good. I was impressed.

How about enforce every single rule they have in every single instance without fail, no exceptions. If they don't intend on actually enforcing the policy, then do away with it. If it's outdated or what have you, then get rid of it. But what is the point in having rules of they are treated more as "guidelines"?

Why does nobody consider the possibility of stepping outside of the room and asking people politely to move to their conversation because you're trying to sleep? Carnival can't be everywhere at all times on the ship. Seems like it would result in more immediate gratification.

Interesting, we all have out gripes, but I think you hit on a point about rules and guidelines. Where do they draw the line in terms of enforcement? Some things are "the right things to do" and others way over the top. I think it is a fine line in some cases. As a rule, we follow the rules and have expectations of others doing the same. Some think rules are for breaking, it is s problem when they collide.

Regarding the toilet paper just double it use more lol I use charman and yes, I have to agree the toilet paper is very fine, perhaps a reason so it doesn't clog in the toilet but nobody is telling you how much to use lol

I love the hot tubs. It's like a soup made from all of the activities everyone did that day.

Next time tell that 7 year old you will break his little leg if he jumps in again. See how quick he runs and gets his parents, then you can have a talk to them about how they should watch their child.
