Back to Back on the Regal

We will be doing a back to back on the Regal Princess in a few weeks and was wondering how they handle back to back passengers on transition day in Ft. Lauderdale.

 

Are you required to go through a customs check onboard? Can you stay on the ship or conversely can you get off for a few hours in Ft. Lauderdale? What's the procedure for re-boarding?

 

Do they have Ft. Lauderdale tours for back to back passengers?

On our B2B, we assembled in the Princess theater and customs came on board. We handed in a custom declaration showed our passports and had our room card swiped. We were then free to go about the ship or leave the ship to explore. They have shore excursions. Shopping is within walking distance if you need supplies.

Some turnarounds you actually are led off the ship and cleared in the terminal..

You say shopping is within walking distance of the ship in Ft. Lauderdale. What type of shopping do you mean?

There is a Publix (grocery store), Total Wines (liquor store), restaurants and other stores nearby.

By nearby he means about 1 mile away to either the Publix and Total Wine stores. So that would be about a 2 mile trip. There is a Walgreens at the corner of the entrance to the harbor area and 17th Street which carries everything except tires, and I'm not sure if they might have added that.

 

One activity you might want to explore is the Water Taxi which cruises the waterway system in and around the port with stops at various restaurants and shopping areas such as Los Olas.

Not always.....sometimes the Regal has been berthed at a pier too far from shopping. If you are at Pier 2, then shopping is relatively close by.

I was on the Christmas/New Years cruise and we did not leave the ship. There were over 700 B2B passengers and we gathered in the Princess Theatre. It went fairly quickly except there were a few passengers that were paged several times. They wouldn't begin until everyone was present. There is a TJ Maxx in the Harbor Shops next to Publix and Total Wine. Ross's is across 17 th St in another plaza. If you want to shop at the mall you can jump on the Trolley, UBer or taxi to the Galleria mall. Very nice shopping! Have a wonderful cruise! We loved the

Regal.

Thanks for that reminder chrysalis :) I forgot the ships could be moved. I am so used to terminal 2.

Thanks for the shopping info. Is the water taxi a hop on and off system? What is at Los Olas?
