lizardhowson Posted January 25, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 25, 2016 I agree- I don't find Carnival cookies very good. But, I am comparing to- quality, top ingredient made cookies, rich specialty chocolate, butter, no additives etc. :) They are just not to my liking. Everyone is different. Got ya !! I also do not like the Chocolate Melting Cake which some rave about. Even the 3 ladies who accompanied me (wife, sister-in-law and her friend) did not care for it. I took one bite and pushed it away, wife ordered it once as well, but did not get it again. Mostly I just skipped the desserts as I found them to be poor quality compared to those available in our favorite local restaurants. The best deserts were those served during the sea days mid-afternoon tea time.
funinthesun1964 Posted January 26, 2016 #27 Share Posted January 26, 2016 The chocolate chip cookies do not compare to any brand. They are baked fresh every day and are crunchy and sweet with a slightly salty aftertaste. Mmmm...only 27 more days to enjoy cookies! Thanks for the answer! Only 26 days for me to try those cookies! :D
dioxide45 Posted January 26, 2016 #28 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Their cookies are mostly air, very light. I do like them and can eat plenty of them. I suspect they just buy frozen cookie dough chunks and put them on baking sheets and cook them. They aren't in the back mixing up batches of cookie dough. lennythenose Posted January 26, 2016 Author #29 Share Posted January 26, 2016 The cookies on the buffet are crunchy. I prefer soft chocolate chip cookies but the others are really good crunchy. The comparison to a vanilla wafer is pretty close but it has more of a graham cracker taste mixed in to me as well. 48 days and I'll ask one of the crew! As far as the cookie delivery, we are "only" gold and don't play in the casino. The only thing I've come up with is we went on the Behind the Fun tour. We saw several other plates being delivered to other cabins on our floor and thought maybe it was anyone who booked through the excursion desk. We usually don't. But, I swear they seem to have a slight peanut butter taste to me! They are soooo good! Especially with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee.
Old Fart Cruisers Posted May 26 #34 Share Posted May 26 I can eat way too many really GOOD cookies all day long. The one positive thing about the cookies on Carnival is that they make it much easier for me to stay on a diet😏
TexasJohn82 Posted May 27 #35 Share Posted May 27 I always thought the brown ones were snickerdoodles at least the ones you get from the deli when they aren't chocolate chip
Oletruckdude Posted May 27 #36 Share Posted May 27 My DW and I love what Carnival labels as "sugar cookies" on the sweet spot on the lido. They don't taste like regular sugar cookies so we asked a server. She said they are made with molasses. Delicious 😋
