I have to send a package ahead of time and I was wondering if there was a UPS store or package place down there close to the embassy suites in Fort Lauderdale that I would b able to pick it up at?

If you are staying at the Embassy Suites just send it there. Notify them ahead of time that you are doing so and make sure you write an arrival date on the package.

 

If not, according to the UPS website, the closest store (across 17th street and a few blocks west of Embassy Suites) is at

Agree. Send it to Embassy Suites with prior notification, and clear direction on the package- "Hold for buckeye12, arriving XX/YY/ZZ", substituting the name on the booking for your screen name, of course.
