travelnut1967 Posted January 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2016 We are flying into BWI and will be cruising on the Grandeur in June. What would be the best and most economical way to get to the port for 4 people? Thanks

cb at sea Posted January 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2016 A cab will run about $35 or so. They hold up to 4 people.

davidhurt Posted January 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted January 28, 2016 Why not give RCI some more money? I think they charge about $120/person to get you from BWI to the ship.
biomedbob Posted January 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2016 Have only done this about 20 times. Each has been a new experience. Newest......have to walk about 5 blocks to the right of the SW baggage area and queu up in the Cab line. Wait till you get to the front and involve an almost speaking person to get into an almost speaking person to take you to the cruise terminal. Show them the turns to take and the entrance, line, and hopefully a place to get your luggage ($$$$) taken by someone. Good luck!

Any more than one person would make a taxi less expensive.
sbbquilter Posted January 29, 2016 #9 Share Posted January 29, 2016 We took a cab - quick and easy. Driver even let us stop and pick up wine within sight of the pier.
Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted January 29, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 29, 2016 It is a relatively short trip. Take a taxi. Easy !!
philnpen Posted February 10, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Do not take Diamond Taxi. The Maryland Public Service commission has posted a rate of $30 per trip (regardless of number of people) for transportation to and from the port. We took a Diamond Taxi (number 630) from the port to BWI after our cruise at he end of Winter Storm Jonas. Because the line of taxis waiting for riders was short we had two different couples get in the van. After we got one the highway the driver said it would be $40 per couple. A ripoff of $50 since he only reported $30 to the company. We had made a complaint to the commission and got his falsified manifest. He implied to us passengers that the charge was justified due to the shortage of taxis.
trixiegal Posted February 14, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Simple, use Uber. It's a short ride to the pier and your Uber driver will pick you up at your baggage claim instead of having to go stand in the cab line.
