2:30 check in?

ship leaves at 4pm, MUST be checked in by 2:30pm?

 

several cruises with X and don't recall ever a MUST check in time.

 

we aren't arriving in NJ until noonish. speaking with X by phone, is telling us that we have to be checked onto the ship by 2:30. is this something new? as I stated above don't recall this happening before.

I think the cut-off time is due to the fact that the ship must turn in the manifest either 60 or 90 minutes before sailing.

As it stated above manifest should be turned in 90 min before departure (2:30 pm)

Are you sure that you cruise is leaving at 4 PM. If you leave at 9 PM you have until 7:30 PM, etc.

 

OP, yes it has been that way for some time. You probably have not been on a ship leaving at 4 PM previously.

San Juan cruises don't leave until late in the evening, generally after 8

If you are on the Summit, it's departure time is 8:30, so you have lots of time to make it to the ship for 7:00 pm.

They are on the Summit out of New Jersey, the Op stated that in the first post. If they arrive at noon they should easily arrive in Bayonne by 2:30 assuming there are no delays.
