Smoking Issue on the Caribbean Princess

Post # 9 reported that a burnt pillow was removed from a cabin by a ship's officer and that a $250.00 fine would be added to their account.

In my humble opinion a burnt pillow is way past a $250.00 fine. That is a frog hair away from a ship's fire. The passengers in that cabin should have been put off the ship for safety of all the other passengers.

I agree! And giving them 2 warnings is ridiculous. After being told once and getting caught again they should be fined. If it happens again after being fined, they should be removed from the ship at the next port. Personally, I'm sick to death of people who think the rules apply to everyone but them.

I agree with you 100% but I bet you there's people out there that don't.

Staff don't want to offend anyone.

So no rules are enforced.

It causes bad grades on host cards and reduces tips.

It didn't bother them on the Emerald. The cabin Steward told me that he warned them after the first day when he smelled the smoke in their bathroom when cleaning it. He told me that if he didn't say something to them his supervisor would have when she did a cabin check & he would have been.

As far as bad grades goes he mentioned that his supervisor was fully aware of any bad reports they might receive from disgruntled passengers.

We also submitted a comment card commenting him for his actions.
