Money on Labadee

Do I need physical money or credit cards on land or can I charge excursions etc to my room card? Tips not withstanding....

If you buy anything like excursions or if not on drink package you will use your sea pass as a charge card, just like on board.

If you purchase anything from the vendors, you will need cash.

If the locals help you with beach chairs you may want to take a couple bucks to tip them.....although not required (or so they say) they kinda expect it.

Enjoy Labadee we do.

Safe travels.

You only need cash if you're going to buy from the "straw market'....otherwise, everything goes on your shipboard account.

You will NOT get Haitian money...and you wouldn't want it, anyway...it's worth less than your shoelace. Haiti is POOR...they have no global value to their currency. Pitiful, since they are nice people...but have a freaking ass for a leader.

Will the vendors give you change in Haitian currency? My son likes to get coins / bills from each country we visit :)

On Labadee, they would normally give you US change. However, if you ask, you can probably get some local coins or bills.
