Couple of quick questions before we sail

Recommended Posts

A couple of questions if someone can answer please

1. Is red bull or similar covered in premium drink packages? My son has ordered vodka/red bull in the past before beverage packages.

2. Just so I am clear. If you have a credit card on file for your onboard expenses can you take money out to play in casino. I am not wanting to carry a bunch of cash. What about when the account has a zero balance or negative balance, can I get the money in cash? (5% charge?)

3. Do I need to get in line for tickets to the ice skating show if I am in suite? I am aware other shows don't require.

4. I am hoping they will have a comedian onboard. Do they have comedians every cruise? Do I need to get tickets?

5. How do you know who the headliner is?

Thanks in advance

It is supposed to be. Results have varied.

Yes, you can get money in the casino and charge it to your SeaPass account. There will be a 5% fee. Most (don't know if it's all) ships now do NOT hand you cash. But if you want cash, this is what you do: Take the money in slot slips/vouchers. Insert the vouchers into a slot machine. Play at least once. Cash out. Take the voucher to the machine. The machine will give you cash. :D

3. Do I need to get in line for tickets to the ice skating show if I am in suite? I am aware other shows don't require.

The concierge will have tickets on his/her desk. There is not an infinite supply, however.

There is (almost) always a comedian. No tickets on the Navigator.

5. How do you know who the headliner is?

about two to three weeks before your cruise, write to web_reservations@rccl.com and ask what your entertainment will be.

(mind the underscore)

ETA: I just looked at your signature, and you are sailing this Sunday. Too late to email Royal Caribbean. You will just have to wait a few days until you are on board and be surprised. ;)

I can only answer this one... I aways sail with the premium package. And i LOVE my red bull. You can order it in your drinks as well as just get the cans if you wish. Regular or sugar free is avail. :D

My experience is that cans of red bull are only included in the ultimate. And that has been my experience over many cruises.

But with the premium you can order a red bull and vodka. Just not the cans. But hey, your relationship with the bartenders could make a difference. :)

Interesting, that seems to be an undocumented feature of the Ultimate package.

I should clarify that I noticed it on Majesty, a ship I obviously sail a lot. I could get Red Bull by the can with the UP, and my friend with a PP could not. And this was with bartenders we know quite well. We could both order Red Bull as a mixer in any drink. I never bothered to check about it on other ships I have been on, and always get the UP. But Red Bull is pricey - $4 and change per can, like premium coffees, so it would make sense to me that it is not part of the PP, just the way it was part of Royal Replenish and not part of Royal Refreshment.

I'm going on Vision soon, so I'll ask the bar staff there what their policy is. I'm curious if it's a fleetwide thing.

Just bring the cash you want to gamble with...paying 5% to access your own money is a loss right there!

Remember also, the ship has an ATM. Even their steep ATM fee would be less than 5% and if your bank reimburses ATM fee's, even better.
