Pacific Dawn not at Portside today????

Recommended Posts

A friend is boarding today, they still check in at Portside and then get the buses to the ship. They found out late yesterday. Instead of leaving at 2pm from Portside they will leave at 6pm from Fisherman's wharf. I believe it was the port's/Harbour pilot's decision, it may have been due to the tide/river levels.

We have quite strong winds, dangerous seas and very high tides here in South-East Qld today. All Gold Coast beaches are closed for the entire weekend.

It is a backlash from the ex-cyclone which devastated Fiji.

This could be the reason why Pacific Dawn did not go up the river to Portside.

Thanks for that. That would explain it as it could be tricky navigating up the river.

Guess the shuttle buses will be busy. Passengers will still check into Portside as usual I presume.:)

Editing to note that Legend of the Seas will be out there in those high winds and heavy seas. Hope its not too rough for them...

That would explain why they couldn't get the ship under the bridge.
