Mare10 Posted February 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2016 I'm not sure where to post this question but here goes. Does anyone know on the overnight cruise if the speciality restaurants are open? We will be on the Ruby from Vancouver BC to Seattle and would love to be able to dine in the Crown Grill! Appreciate your input!

Rare sonomaphil Posted February 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Thank you! Another question! Do they have a show and most of the other things that longer cruises have? Yes they do. Depending on where you go the casino might have limited hours. It happens from Seattle to Vancouver and vice versa. Rare cr8tiv1 Posted February 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 28, 2016 The "show" is usually an abbreviated performance by a guest artist (comedian usually), sometimes a very short song and dance by the Princess dancers, and a spiel from the cruise director. flyboy88 Posted February 29, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Just booked this repositioning cruise for a quick birthday getaway and to get my last cruise credit, this way when I cruise in October I will be platinum and received free wifi :-)
Robinsoncruiseso Posted February 29, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 29, 2016 We have done several of the Seattle/Vancouver (May and Sept) cruises and usually the entertainment is the same as you would find on a longer cruise. Last September they had both the regular stage show in the Princess Theater plus a comedian in the Explorers lounge. The schedule will closely follow the schedule for the embarkation day for a longer cruise. The next morning is usually a little more congested as everyone is a walk-off (unless they are continuing on)

Mare10 Posted March 3, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Yes, but many other people may have the same idea, so go there to make a reservation ASAP after boarding. Thanks for the tip! Is it best to go in person or call the dine line for reservations?
caribill Posted March 3, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 3, 2016 Thanks for the tip! Is it best to go in person or call the dine line for reservations? If someone will answer the DINE line phone, that is just as good as going to the restaurant.
blueseas4me2 Posted March 3, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 3, 2016 I have a hard time getting off the ship after a 7 day cruise. It would be terribly painful to leave after only one day. :o
floridalover5623 Posted March 3, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 3, 2016 We've had problems making reservations with the person that answered the phone who insisted that we couldn't use a voucher on a particular night. We visited the head waiter at the entrance to the restaurant and it was solved immediately.

RetiredNTraveling Posted March 3, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 3, 2016 I guess we're cheating a little bit, I booked this criuse in a suite so we could get platinum faster :o That isn't cheating! If we lived closer to the coast, we would be taking the short cruises all of the time. After just 4 cruises, (3 in suites) we were Platinum) but we have to fly so we take at least 7 day cruises. Good luck and happy sailing! Just Mike Hi Mike!!!! This is what I love about cruising..... Making connections with people and continuing to stay in touch! I will always remember our chat at the meet & greet on the New England cruise in Oct. 13! You got me so excited about our Hawaii cruise! I made Platinum and continue cruising as much as I can! Hubby and I did a Western Caribbean recently with friends from our Hawaii cruise. My friend Mary Ellen and I are cruising again this spring! Sure hope our paths will cross again one day. qqwer123 Posted March 7, 2016 #20 Share Posted March 7, 2016 We're going to hop on this cruise next year when we go on our Alaska cruise because we are trying to get our black card and this cruise is an easy way to get a cruise credit! Please report back how it was!
