sheba2008 Posted March 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2016 We are now elite +, so I heard I can get speciality coffees, I really like coffee, who does it work and where can I get them? Thanks :)
sandancer Posted March 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Cafe Bacio. All the fancy coffees you want, just nothing with alcohol in it. Nice cakes and pastries to go with the coffee. Only problem is it is quite difficult to get a seat. Any bar that serves coffee. Also in the MDR after dinner I understand, I don't drink coffee in the evening so I have never tried. helen haywood Posted March 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Depending on which ship you sail, some have a Il Secondo Bacio in the Oceanview Buffet that also serves specialty coffees.

Wine-O Posted March 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Do they swipe the card and no charge on my bill?I hope I can get a special coffee in MDR, somebody know it an try? Thanks Just make sure they know you are Elite+. I've been charged before, but guest relations reversed the charges. I always make sure when I order that they know I am Elite+. I had a server at Café Al Bacio tell me when I told her I was Elite+, she responded: "Yes, I can read." I told her I always mention it because some of her colleagues don't seem to be able to read. I always get my coffee from Café al Bacio because it's always hot and comes right out of the machine. TN Vol Fan Posted March 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 13, 2016 Yes, you can get specialty coffees in the MDR no charge, but as already stated, not with alcohol. You can also get them at the Elite breakfast. Cafe mochas are my favorite! They do not swipe your card; they get to know you are elite +. If you have a drink package, you can add the alcohol. You cannot get them from room service n/c. I'm so ready for my cafe mochas and DH is waiting for his cappuccinos in just 2 weeks on the Summit. grandpaiscruising Posted March 14, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2016 I got specialty coffee in Blu on our last cruise on the Equinox. Silhouette, 2/26/17, Summit, 5/8/16 HAL 56 days, RCCL 104 points, NCL 28 days, Princess Elite 228 days, Royal 14 days, Cunard 49 days, Celebrity Elite+ 27 cruises
Cancruz Posted March 14, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) I thought that you could only get 3 kinds of coffee, • Complimentary tea, cappuccino, latte and espresso. Café mocha is our favorite also. That's usually the only reason we trek to the Elite breakfast. (Oh, and the Bellini :) Guess we'll inquire on next cruise.... Only the teas and basic cappuccino, latte and expresso are included in the Elite+ benefit. They will often add a vanilla powder if you ask, but everything else is charged. To your Seapass card. At least it should be charged. If you order the specialty coffees in the MDR or other venues they need to go to al Bacio to get it. They do have a machine in Michael's Club, but that is restricted to Suite passengers and Zeniths. They can only make the basic coffees and have to get anything else from al Bacio. Redtravel Posted April 6, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 6, 2016 The coffee tea perk as elite plus is a terrific perk. I ordered specialty coffee many places on the ship. MDR, any bar, specialty restaurants, Oceanview buffet, casino, pool deck, cafe Al Bacio. As far as I know, only room service is not included. I have had some waiters ignore the elite plus on the seapass. It can be very annoying. Whatever happens, do not sign the slip. I now tell the server that the coffee tea is complimentary. It would be nice if there was a beverage code printed on the seapass. Enjoy!
Hapytocruise Posted April 6, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 6, 2016 I always tip $1 at Bacio and have had no problem getting a cafe mocha as elite+, along with great service.
sandancer Posted April 6, 2016 #14 Share Posted April 6, 2016 We also tip in Bacio sometimes, but it is not essential and new Elite+ should not think that is the only way to get good service. In the main we have found the servers to be charming and accommodating, regardless of an extra tip. Considering the way they are spoken to sometimes, it's a miracle they can keep smiling. dodger1964 Posted April 6, 2016 #16 Share Posted April 6, 2016 What about hot chocolate for those who do not drink coffee? I think the answer is maybe. On our last cruise I got a hot chocolate and wasn't charged...They way the server acted they must have had to ring it up as a coffee. (the two servers had a conversation about it before swiping the card) I didn't go back again.
4774Papa Posted April 6, 2016 #17 Share Posted April 6, 2016 Many people on cc Celebrity talk about the specialty coffees so much it makes we wonder how much darn coffee do they drink daily. Personally, I drink one or two cups of coffee for breakfast and that is all. How much do you drink?

airhose Posted April 6, 2016 #19 Share Posted April 6, 2016 I also found their tea selection to be delicious. You can get either tea or coffee to go, and I did that with the decaf tea in the evening. Great perk! As others have said, do tell them your status as some servers just look for the drink package sticker on your Seapass card.

You can also get teas which I have not done yet, but maybe on my next cruise. The coffees are a nice perk, we usually have one in the morning then a tea in the afternoon. They have a good selection of quality teas, my favourite is Earl Grey served properly in a tea pot. In the evening we often skip dessert in the dining room in favour of a decaf cappuccino and a slice of cake in the coffee shop. I agree that it is often difficult to get a seat because people sit in the comfortable seats to read or snooze for hours at a time, not to mention my pet aversion, the card players who spend most of the day occupying tables while not using the services of the cafe. Two White Chocolate Mochas for me and one Solticse Ice tea for my bride. Sometimes one of the frozen options. Just lovely on a port day.
4774Papa Posted April 6, 2016 #23 Share Posted April 6, 2016 If I drink coffee after 10am in the morning, I have trouble going to sleep at night. Even decaffeinated coffee has some caffeine.
Longboysfan Posted April 6, 2016 #24 Share Posted April 6, 2016 O.K. I have been off Celebrity for a few years. I think the last time was 2009. Question is. I have sailed about 18 times with Celebrity. Many days of cruises from 7 to 14 days. About where would I fall in the Captains club point system now? Reminder - They did not have the upper level classes when I was crusing and I did not use them back in 2008 or 2009.

Call the Captain's Club as there is no way to know unless you list each cruise you were on, the length of the cruise and what type of stateroom you were in, in order to calculate points. But if I would have to guess I would say Elite or Elite+ level.
