Rare patrice1 Posted March 19, 2016 #26 Share Posted March 19, 2016 Always! Love being able to have a drink in our cabin whenever we want. Carry whatever's left home with us.
meatloafsfan Posted March 19, 2016 #27 Share Posted March 19, 2016 Only two carry-ons per person? I'll be traveling with a c-pap machine. I know I have to carry that on. Do I get another carry-on (one for pop and the other for change of clothes) or just my c-pap and choice of pop or swim suit? There is no limit on the number of carry ons. The only limitation is on the size as they need to fit through the scanner (so airline carry on size). And I go back and forth about ordering alcohol from Bon Voyage - we don't drink a lot but it is convenient to have something in the cabin. We order pop and water but mostly skip ordering alcohol (we also tend to have the drinks on us cards waiting in the casino so those fancy frozen things are covered for us). We order pop and water but mostly skip ordering alcohol (we also tend to have the drinks on us cards waiting in the casino so those fancy frozen things are covered for us). Sorry I was going from my understanding and what my PVP told me that its only 2 carryons yet I have looked on the faq area on the carnival site after reading the above about no limit on number but size and this is what is stated: Luggage Information Guests are encouraged to limit their luggage to two suitcases per guest. Each suitcase should not weigh more than 50 pounds (22.68 Kilograms) and should not exceed 16 inches high x 24 inches wide, laying flat (40.64cm x 60.96cm); the length of the bag is not a factor. This is printed on the eDoc bag tags as well. If traveling by air, each airline has its own restrictions on the maximum size, weight and the number of suitcases allowed per person. In order to offset high fuel costs, some airlines are charging fees for the 2nd suitcase checked; some airlines are charging for the 1st suitcase checked as well. The guest is responsible for contacting the airline to learn about the restrictions and policies for that airline. We suggest that all checked luggage be unlocked and have a Carnival luggage tag attached listing the guest's name and stateroom number. For those guests who wish to carry on their luggage, it must fit through the security screening machine; when laying flat, it should not exceed 16 inches high x 24 inches wide (40.64cm x 60.96cm); the length of the bag is not a factor. Anything larger, must be checked-in with a curbside porter. So then I don't understand why my PVP stated only 2 carryons each? So.... technically you can bring as much as you want as long as it fits in your stateroom but fit in the size requirements if you carryon??? Butterbean1000 Posted March 20, 2016 #29 Share Posted March 20, 2016 We always buy a bottle of vodka. It's great for making my adult dreamsicle, vodka, oj and soft serve ice cream. I drink this by the pool.
mom2oneXY Posted March 20, 2016 #30 Share Posted March 20, 2016 Hi all, I'm new to Carnival so buying liquor through BV is new to me! Are you able to mix your drink and take it anywhere on the ship? Same question for wine you bring on board. Can I pour a glass to take to dinner with me? Thanks in advance!
Rare mexicobob Posted March 20, 2016 #31 Share Posted March 20, 2016 We enjoy Blue Moon beer. Ordered some for our suite tonight for our upcoming cruise on The Legend. May cost a few dollars more but sure is convenient.

But, vanilla you can take to your cabin. Booze should be checked in and you will be able to pick it up the morning of debarkation. They no longer deliver it to your cabin the night before debarkation.
nissach Posted March 20, 2016 #36 Share Posted March 20, 2016 I haven't bought on my last couple of cruises, but I will for my upcoming B2B2B. I will be on the ship for 33 days, so for me it's worth it. Wow! Can't wait till I can try out 33 days on a ship! Have fun!

You could go on another cruise with that savings!

You could go on another cruise with that savings! Yes, longer cruises that are port intensive, it is definitely not worth buying the drink package. Our last Carnival cruise was 21 days and there is no way I could ever justify paying over $2100 to drink liquor for 3 weeks.

My6Dogs Posted March 20, 2016 #40 Share Posted March 20, 2016 We have never tried the Cheers package, but I have purchased thru Bon Voyage a number of time in the past. This time, we may try Cheers since they have added all the extra things... My wife doesn't drink that much alcohol, but she can put away some coffee! :D
darth frosty Posted March 20, 2016 #41 Share Posted March 20, 2016 What is the cost of wine by the glass. Is it cheaper to buy a bottle from gifts or onboard. I know I can bring one bottle, but plan to supplement. (: Another oprtion for wine is to book the steakhouse the 1st night and take advantage of there 50% off special. discussed in this thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2161366&highlight=smugmug

jst Posted March 21, 2016 #45 Share Posted March 21, 2016 Someone mentioned they ordered Sprite Zero with their package and another Diet Coke, Did you order on line or call Bon Voyage at their 1-800 Number? All I saw on line was regular Sprite or Coke. We always order thru Bon Voyage, but have paid the $10 fee for Sprite Zero.

bobsfamily Posted March 21, 2016 #47 Share Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Thank you!!:) I know this was in response to a question about bringing more soda on at a port of call... Carnival has recently changed their policy, see below: Purchasing Liquor During the Cruise Ports of Call "All alcohol purchased in ports will be stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained items will be available for collection in a designated lounge on the morning of debarkation. A small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, juice, and milk) packaged in cans or cartons may be brought onboard as well as Carnival branded bottled water previously purchased onboard. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less per person."
