ocaladee Posted April 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2016 We will be cruising out of CA in January. First time as we live in Florida. Need help finding a hotel that is near port but in a decent area. Would like if breakfast was included or avaliable as kids and grandkids will be joining us. We are flying in the night before Princess cruise.
IECalCruiser Posted April 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2016 (edited) Check out the Crown Plaza or Doubletree in San Pedro. We usually drove to San Pedro the day of the cruise but we did a breakfast, park and cruise at the Doubletree. I believe the rate with breakfast is about $10 more per room. CruiserBruce Posted April 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2016 If you look on the West Coast Departures board, here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=413 The Mods might even move it there.

paul929207 Posted April 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2016 We stayed at the DoubleTree in San Pedro last October. Nice hotel. free shuttle to the ship.
skynight Posted April 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2016 Doubletree is nice, but it is between 1 1/2 to 2 miles from the port area where many of the restaurants are located as well as other sites like the Battleship Iowa. Would suggest you look at the Crown Plaza which is a few blocks from the active waterfront area. If you are staying for more than one night check out Long Beach. If you are looking for a less expensive option check out the Best Western Sunrise hotel right on S. Harbor Blvd.
Putterdude Posted April 17, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2016 We stay at the Double Tree in San Pedro as well, just prefer the park like location it is set in. The offer a free shuttle anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. The other hotel we like is the Crowne Plaza which is closer to the cruise terminal but we much prefer the DTI...we were there in January and will be back next January.
