TerryLP Posted April 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Hi All, My family and I are going to be sailing on the Pacific Princess in May. My twin girls collect t-shirts on each ship that we sail on, and at each port that we hit. On this trip we will be going to Iceland. My wife was trying to figure out how much currency that we will take with us. My question is, does anyone have an idea how much t-shirts cost, on an average, at the shops on shore? ilovhywd Posted April 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Expect to pay more in Iceland than you would in the Caribbean, for example. Don't expect to find a 3 for $10 special. Reykjavic is a pricey city.
wheezedr Posted April 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 28, 2016 How about a charge card
Thrak Posted April 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Just use a credit card and don't worry about getting local currency. It's much easier. Let your credit card company know you will be traveling though. :)
panda24 Posted April 28, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Also check to see if you have a credit card that doesn't charge an extra fee for using it internationally. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
sassycruiser Posted April 28, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 28, 2016 We were in Iceland in March. We didn't use cash for anything. Everything was able to be purchased with a debit card or a credit card. Do check your card - there can be fees for international transactions. Its easier to use a chip card there but they are cheerful about the non chip cards also. Yes, agree too with the poster who says it is expensive. Very expensive place.
skynight Posted April 28, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Reykjavik? A short distance from the cruise terminal along the main street is an inside flee market. I saw lots of tourist items in there at reasonable prices.

emmak8 Posted April 28, 2016 #9 Share Posted April 28, 2016 Easy and best to use a credit card in Iceland. Make sure you have one that doesn't charge a fee like Capital One. Have a wonderful cruise.
