Infinity Questions

Hello All! Getting ready for Alaska departing out of Vancouver this coming Sunday and have a few questions.

Does Celebrity offer a prepaid photo package? We've sailed on Royal Caribbean numerous times and sometimes they offered a photo package that you could purchase at the beginning of your cruise.

Is there a charge for room service on Infinity - or do you just tip the steward who comes to your cabin?

We are in Concierge Class this cruise - what are all of the amenities that are offered for this?

Does our cabin on Deck 8 have a refrigerator in it? Need to refrigerate some insulin pens while on vacation.

Also - any excursion recommendations that are a must do? Have not scheduled anything yet - was wondering if services were available when we get off at each Port.

Many thanks my friends!

Yes, they offer photo packages. Prices vary so not sure what it will be on your cruise. Usually if you buy the all inclusive digital package on the first or second day, they throw in all the prints for free.

I don't think there is a room service charge, but haven't used it in so long I don't recall.

I believe all Celebrity cabins have fridge, but they don't stay very cold.

No port advice as our Alaska cruise was 8 years ago.

Our friends just did this with celebrity. I believe you just email their special needs department and they will make sure you have a real fridge (not the cooler fridges). If you get onboard and it isnt right make sure you tell your room steward right away.

Skagway- White Pass train

Ketchikan - sea plane tour

Juneau - Mendenhall glacier run

Tracy Arm - a very very very short swim with the ice.

I agree- these would be our top options... Except for a dip in the ice! Brrrrrr : )

Excursion recs...

You can get tickets for the White Pass railroad at the train station in Skagway. It's a short walk from either pier. You can also book the excursion onboard. The price is only marginally more and you will be assigned to a train car. One advantage of booking at the rail station is a better train car. Another option is a very scenic drive across the Canadian border to Carcrosse. You may be too late to book this independently as there are not many vendors and they do sell out quickly. If you are leaning to this option you can try to find a tour operator on the Ports of Call boards or just google Skagway tours.

When you exit the ship in Ketchikan and/or Juneau there will be tour vendors on the dock. They will offer everything from the flights to scenic tours and whale watching.

There is a room service charge for late night delivery. There may also be a charge for some items although I've never ordered anything but room service and in 3 Infinity cruises I have found plenty to eat in any of the dining options. I do tip for room service.

Do contact the Special Needs Dept. as mentioned. The frig in the cabin is not cool enough for your insulin.

I haven't sailed in a Concierge Class cabin since the inception of Aqua but you will be in a slightly bigger cabin than a regular balcony. Lunch is now being served on embarkation day for CC passengers in the MDR. It will be a quiet venue with fine service. I do not know the times or which deck. You will get this info when you check in. You also get a few more Captain's Club point for the CC cabin. I think they still serve afternoon hors d'oeuvres if you are in your cabin. Your steward will explain the process. They are just a few nibbles and I wouldn't rush back to the cabin for them anyway.

I hope you signed up with the Captain's Club to get your comparable Crown and Anchor perks. This may be of more benefit than just being in a CC cabin. Depending on your C & A status you will get a sheet of coupons for everything from spa discounts to casino chips to laundry specials and perhaps even a drink or two if you are at least Diamond.

Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy Alaska!!!

They will certainly empty the mini bar ( fridge) for you.

All cabins on Celebrity have refrigerators. Many have them emptied of for purchase items to store personal items.

You can arrange a sharpie container or ask for one at the medical office. They also have a sharpie container for disposal of you syringes and needles.

Photo Packages - Information can be found here - http://www.celebritycruises.com/onboard-celebrity/cruise-activities-photo-packages

They have a package of all your photos for $225

Most items on room service menu are free but they do have some that they charge a sur-charge for. Late last year there were some threads that there was a fee for room service after 1AM. Not sure if this ever actually was implemented.

Unfortunately it's probably too late to order a special fridge, they usually need more lead time for special requests.

The special requests form is supposed to be submitted 90 days prior to sailing.

What happens then if you book late?

Can you tell me where to find the email address? We are just below the 90 days and I need to contact them.

I didn't look at Infinity Alaska cruises except for August when I am going. On our cruise in August we do not go to Skagway. If yours does, I recommend the train ride as well. It was excellent.

Mine was with my Booking Invoice, but I booked direct. If you booked with a TA, they might have the form.

Here is a direct link to the

Celebrity Guest Special Needs Form

Just fill it out and click Submit

or can send email to special_needs@celebrity.com

Thank you for the info. I sent an email right away and received an answer back the very next day so at least one division works efficiently.

(Wanted to post a smiley icon...how do you get them to post? Clicked on it, then what?)

You need to click on the smilies from the right of the answer box:)if you want it to be included in the text.

If you click on the Post icon below the answer box, it goes at the top of your post ( as yours did)

Took me years to sort that one out!

Then if you edit, you have to click 'go advanced' to get the smilies back.

Thank you for the info. I sent an email right away and received an answer back the very next day so at least one division works efficiently.

(Wanted to post a smiley icon...how do you get them to post? Clicked on it, then what?)

If you first click inside your message to position your cursor at the exact place you want the icon to go, then click on the icon you want, it will insert it at the cursor position.

Another easy way is not to click on it but simply use "drag and drop" instead, where you hold the mouse button down instead of releasing it.

Holding the mouse button down, you drag the smiley or icon you want into your message from either location (from the right or from below) and then drop it by releasing the mouse button when you have it exactly where you want it in your message.

For example, I will put my mouse cursor on the green Big Grin smiley, press my left mouse button down on it and continue holding it down while I drag it over to the end of this sentence, then release the button here. :D

You can move it around within your message the same way, by holding your left mouse button down on it and dragging it over to the new place you want it, then releasing the button.

If you change your mind, to delete it you can click your right mouse button (hard) on the smiley in your message to select it.

(Tiny boxes appear on it to indicate that it is selected).

Then choose "Delete" from the little menu that appears.

Or else select it with your left mouse button and click the DEL key on your keyboard to delete it.

It does the same thing either way. ;)

If you are familiar with the keyboard shortcuts, CTRL -X to cut and CTRL-V to paste, that is another fast and easy way to move them around.

It is easy to get the hang of it if you just practice playing around with it a little bit, dragging a few of the smilies and icons into your message box, moving them around, and deleting them. icon6.gif

We are set to sail next Sunday the 26th. I was wondering how long it takes to get used to no darkness in the evening? This is going to be so cool to experience but I do worry about how we are going to adjust once back in New York. I would love to hear what it's like. I am happy you get to see things from your balcony late in the evening. That will be nice to bundle up and sit out there and hope to see some whales or other wild life.

I see everyone posting about "mini bar items in the fridge". Is this in every class room or just the upgraded rooms? If we have the classic drink package and would like our fridge stocked with soda, water and beer could we request that or is it just the drinks at the bar that are included??

Stock up what you want in your fridge from any bar, mini bar prices are ridiculous.

eg water will cost you $5 ( maybe even more since we sailed last July) You can collect it free with your key card from any bar if you have the Classic package.

So I guess this isn't a job for the cabin steward if we ask him to have some things stocked in the fridge? It blows my mind that a cruise would have a mini bar in the room with additional charges when you have the beverage package included in your stay. I guess I"m just used to all inclusive resorts and I'm spoiled.

Hi Tikibargirl! I think we're the only living people going on next Sunday's cruise! LOL :) I'm so EXCITED!!!! I don't even remember what it was like to have such little darkness... I hope the weather is decent for us! I think you can ask them to remove the "chargeable" mini bar items, but I don't think they will specifically stock items that are included... though you may be able to stock it yourself....:D

HI!!!!!! I know people are very quiet for next week's cruise. We're going to be in Vancouver from Friday to Sunday doing some site seeing. We're in packing mode right now. Finally getting excited. It's a rough trip to plan we're used to tropical vacations LOL Looking forward to seeing how beautiful all the scenery is going to be. This will also be a tranquil vacation just opposite of tropical :) SO EXCITED!

I looked at the other posts and got this information:

We like booking our tours with private companies instead of the ship.... A smaller and more personal tour.

*Whale tour: Alaska Galore Tours - Icy Straight Point

Harv and Marv - Juneau

*Seaplane tour - Island Wings - Ketchikan

Southeast aviation-Ketchikan

I'm also going on the Infinity next June (2017) and was hoping since you all are going, can you please take a picture of the Tuscan Grill menu? Since the ship was refurbished, Celebrity changed the menu on her and then it will go to all the other ships. I was following a thread that stated depending on how people reacted to it, they might change it in June or July. So, I was hoping to see what their menu looks like at this time. Thanks!
