Just woken up, last night the £ against the $ was at £1 = $1.50, now its £1 = $1.33. Thankfully ive got $ purchased already.

Merion Mom is from the US and her post was directed to her US friends. If it had been the other way round and the £ was strong against the $ I would have been waiting for the bank to open. A silver lining to this particular cloud is that more tourists will come to the UK and spend their money here as it will now go further.

If one is a risk taker, one might look at buying a cruise on the UK site before RCI gets a chance to adjust prices.

Unfortunately I booked my February cruise through a US TA and as things stand at the moment it's going to cost me an extra £477 :( Hopefully the pound will rise a bit before fainal payment is due.

At least you can cancel which they can't do without losing deposit in the UK. It will only get worse.

Mick, that's a downer. Hopefully any perks you got from a US TA compared to booking in the UK will compensate a little. Today was an over-reaction, I'm sure things will calm down given the actual Brexit could be years away yet.

It's still low, but up a bit since morning

USA friends should definitely buy pounds ( to spend on UK food/ activities etc ) now. The market is already stabling a bit and the pound is strengthening slightly. I managed to grab a load of dollars this morning whilst the rate was still offered at $1.45/£1 ( i'm the opposite as in UK and visit USA a lot )

The euro has suffered a bit, too, if anyone is traveling to Europe soon. I know that *I* have a TA coming up in October.

 

Off to the bank I go!
