question about dishes

They used to give you paper placemats on the last night of the cruise. They had a picture of the ship on them.

Wow... I was wondering where I got two different "prints" of ships.

That makes so much sense, they must have stopped sometime around 2006 though...

This was good for a smile. How will Carnival get rid of that "Walmart of the Seas" image. They've done away with tablecloths on cruise casual evenings, but hopefully the china plates, glassware & silverware will remain.

I have never seen paper plates come to think of it all the silverware was rolled in cloth napkins, so I don't recall seeing paper napkins either. Could be wrong on the napkins though

Think you're right on no paper napkins. I've never seen them either.

Same problem as paper plates ... they'd fly around all over the place in the wind.

I don;t recall Carnival having paper plates. Definitely not in the dining room or buffet and I don't think anywhere else on the ship.

Room Service doesn't use paper plates either.

Ten cruises and have never seen paper plates, though I have seen heavy duty plastic (plastic is really not the right word, but they are not china) at the outdoor buffets.

The plates used at the buffet are similar to Melmac.

Lots thicker than Mom's melmac.

Have had paper napkins under glasses from the bar waiters and at the Platinum/Diamond party.

I have read in the past that Carnival uses paper plates; is this true? Specifically looking at a short cruise on the Imagination. Thanks for any input you can give me!!

LOL. Had to laugh! I was on Imagination a year or so ago and we had real plates.
