laurieb Posted July 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2016 I have read in the past that Carnival uses paper plates; is this true? Specifically looking at a short cruise on the Imagination. Thanks for any input you can give me!!
CharlesKru Posted July 12, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2016 I have never seen paper plates on a Carnival ship in my 17 plus Carnival cruises. I don't know where that info came from, but I do not believe it is true.
pjinaz Posted July 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2016 I don;t recall Carnival having paper plates. Definitely not in the dining room or buffet and I don't think anywhere else on the ship.

sewut Posted July 12, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2016 They used to give you paper placemats on the last night of the cruise. They had a picture of the ship on them.

I was wondering where I got two different "prints" of ships. That makes so much sense, they must have stopped sometime around 2006 though... Rare Banditswife Posted July 12, 2016 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2016 This was good for a smile. How will Carnival get rid of that "Walmart of the Seas" image. They've done away with tablecloths on cruise casual evenings, but hopefully the china plates, glassware & silverware will remain.

zqvol Posted July 12, 2016 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2016 Ten cruises and have never seen paper plates, though I have seen heavy duty plastic (plastic is really not the right word, but they are not china) at the outdoor buffets.
Rh2458 Posted July 13, 2016 #14 Share Posted July 13, 2016 I don't even understand how anyone could have told someone that with a straight face and then have anyone believe that it's true.
OCruisers Posted July 13, 2016 #15 Share Posted July 13, 2016 Doubt paper plates will ever be used for outside area buffets . They would be flying all over the place in the wind. :D
mandmcruise Posted July 13, 2016 #16 Share Posted July 13, 2016 I have never seen paper plates come to think of it all the silverware was rolled in cloth napkins, so I don't recall seeing paper napkins either. Could be wrong on the napkins though

TomCruise48 Posted July 13, 2016 #22 Share Posted July 13, 2016 Perhaps they were talking about the lunch buffet that Carnival serves at Half Moon Cay.
SadieN Posted July 13, 2016 #23 Share Posted July 13, 2016 Room Service doesn't use paper plates either. The plates used at the buffet are similar to Melmac. Lots thicker than Mom's melmac. Have had paper napkins under glasses from the bar waiters and at the Platinum/Diamond party. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
