Rare CineGraphic Posted July 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I posted the following our our roll call for our 12/8 Panama Canal sailing, but thought anyone else stopping in Limon, Costa Rica should know. It looks like Princess has changed the details of some of the excursions once again. Our tour, "Train Ride, Tortuguero Canals & Countryside" no longer mentions a stop at a banana plantation. This is the second tour to have the banana plantation visit removed. Princess is now offering a separate tour of a banana plantation, for $50. I don't believe Princess sends out notifications if excursion details change, so you may want to log-in and re-read the descriptions of anything you've already booked. Rare LACruiser88 Posted July 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We have been to Costa Rica many times. We have always booked private tours and have LOVED them! And they are much cheaper than the cruise line excursions.
Rare CineGraphic Posted July 25, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted July 25, 2016 We have been to Costa Rica many times. We have always booked private tours and have LOVED them! And they are much cheaper than the cruise line excursions. I too normally book private excursions, but we have quite a bit of OBC to burn through, pre-paid grats, and we bring our own wine, so the excursion desk will finally get a few shekels from us. caribill Posted July 25, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2016 We are on the British Isles cruise and Princess has changed some of the excursions with respect to time and content. We were on a Carnival ship earlier this year. For one excursion they changed the time which should have made us suspicious but it did not. After the excursion we realized they changed just about every detail about what we would see and what would happen on the excursion. They even had changed the name of the excursion. Of course they had not told us about any of the changes except the change in time and that notification was on the tour ticket.
