Captains club status

At the risk of sounding clueless I am going to ask about Captains club status. We are going on our second celebrity cruise in August for 10 days in an aqua class cabin. Our first cruise with X was a 14 day med cruise in cc class. I know for this sailing we are select. How many points does it take to reach each new tier. I looked at the website but their site is so bad I just could not find the information. Hopefully someone can explain for me.

Per Celebrity website:

welcome_points.jpg

Club Points per Night

Inside/Ocean View - 2

Veranda - 3

Concierge Class/AquaClass -5

Sky Suite - 8

Celebrity, Signature or Royal Suite - 12

Reflection or Penthouse Suite - 18

If you log into your Celebrity account, your Captain's Club profile should show your points and tier.

Yes that would indeed work if I could ever actually log in. I believe post #2 is correct and I have 70 points. I was wondering what points the different tiers are. I now know from the knowledgeable people here that select is at 150. So unless I hurry up and take a few cruises I don't have to think know about it for quite a while.

What does it do when you try to log in after you enter user name and password?

Have you tried contacting Celebrity website support about it?

That system does some weird things.

When I try to sign in it never recognizes my captains club number. I called quite a while back and they told me their Classic "web site problem" line. I have just come to accept their website sucks and usually no longer even bother calling, just get my TA to do it for me.

Thanks for giving me the tier points, at least now I know and can keep working towards better perks.

Looking forward to my cruise upcoming on August 19th.

The laundry and dry cleaning and pressing have great value to many passengers. Same with the one category upgrade. If you are at a tender port, there is value in Elite status. We always use the Persial Garden pass and the casino match play coupons. And the Internet. We find the perks quite rewarding

Over the years, the number of posters who have expressed satisfaction with Elite benefits has been substantial, very few have expressed dissatisfaction

Well if this poster believes people on here ( & I include myself here ) are representative of the million (?) or so passengers Celebrity have then I wouldnt want to spoil myths about , eg, Santa Claus' authenticity.

For the record I didnt say I was dissatisfied . Rather unimpressed by the low value 'perks' being spun by the skilful Marketing people into something 'wonderful'

Everyone to their own. I for one find it amusing that having paid £K's for a boat trip people get excited over perks with a true value equal to less than 1% of the holiday.

I would be unhappy if they stop this though . Nothing better than on a long cruise with tendering and lots of 'Elites'. When the Elites realise that the queue for priority was 30 minutes longer than the non-priority and they get agitated at Guest Relations it makes for highly amusing 'people watching' .

Also good in the 'Elite Lounge' to tease the Cruise Snobs who take great pleasure to say they have been on loads of trips by saying its your first . One even stormed off to bring the GR Manager over to eject me. As professional as ever she managed to keep a straight face whilst asking me ( by name) if indeed it was my first cruise. My excuse of severe amnesia seemed to satisfy the GR but not my new Cruise Veteran friends .

So to the OP - you should have a great time . There is something for everyone. As you can see some people do take this cruise malarkey very serious - others simply enjoy the trip regardless.

Dont worry about the status - it is not really anything if substance- as the great Bard's play was entitled ' Much ado about Nothing'

Can't say that I would ever book a vacation based on loyalty perks. I happen to like the celebrity product and when we do cruise I would chose them, but certainly captain club status has little to do with it. But when and if I ever reach elite status I will enjoy the perks. We don't cruise the Caribbean but like to do resorts. Sandals has the best loyalty program I have seen in that they actually give u free weeks after you reach a certain status. That definitely gives me incentive for sure, but is not my deciding factor. Looking forward to this cruise and hopefully more to come in the future.

We only stay in balconys so we find immense value in the perks. We are Elite Plus so we get a few more.

Our last cruise was the 13 day transatlantic on the Silhouette in April. We bought during the fire sale in March so we paid $600 p.p. for a D1 balcony. Adding the taxes and fees, and the gratuities (minus the obc we got from our travel agency, it came to about $750 p.p.

During the cruise we sent laundry in three times, at $30 per bag, that's $90. It also saved us $25 because we only took one big bag on the plane. We each had free capaccino almost every day, that's $8 per day, times 10 days equals $80. We each got 240 free internet minutes with $100 value, each. Best guess is 35 free drinks each, at $10 a pop, that's $350 p.p. Those are the big items.

Recap: $57.50 p.p. on laundry and one less suit case. $40 p.p. cappaccino. Internet $100 p.p. Drinks $350 p.p. I got a feeling that's more than 1% of the cost.

We didn't save that money, because we wouldn't have paid for any of it as none of it's worth the asking price.

We are currently Classic but only 7 points away from Select, so since we are in a CC cabin, will cross over that threshold after 2 nights on our upcoming 15 day cruise. Does our CC status change then, or not until the completion of our cruise ? Thanks.

Not until the completion of the cruise, unfortunately.

Thanks Wine-O. I need to book a short X cruise to nowhere.

I don't think it is worth booking a cruise to move from Classic to Select. Also there are no cruises to nowhere anymore from the US anymore because of a US immigration ruling.

How else are you going to climb the C.C ladder!!!!!!

Completely disagree, especially when it took us 3 hrs to get off the ship in Split in 2010.

It was a complete waste of a morning; we had done exactly as instructed and waited until after our breakfast until we went to collect our tender ticket. We were number 35.

I was told later that we need to book a ship's excursion if we want to get off early in a tender port.

Everyone has different experiences. We tendered in St Thomas on Eclipse . It would appear there were more 'elite's' than non-elite. We waited ages in the 'priority ' queue .

Our friends from Canadia didnt have priority tickets . We had said we would wait for them at the docking place.

We were somewhat amused they had landed over half an hour before us.

But it was well worth it listening to the irate Cruise snobs giving it loud to the poor Guest Relations staff .

Must be awful having one's holiday ruined by being treated so badly. How could Cel X let the plebs get on land before one. Especially When one is 'elite' [emoji33][emoji12]

Well I for one am glad to have the perks and finally getting to Elite Plus on our next cruise, won't have to worry about paying for internet, any laundry service we need and yeah, the free drinks are nice too.

Have never even tried to use the priority tickets for tendering.

Doesn't mean we never cruise another line but I'd be stupid not to appreciate the perks of a frequent cruiser.

The chances that we'll ever hit Zenith are very slim....but won't hurt to try!!!:D

I know that as an Crown & Anchor Emerald member, I have Select status in Celebrity's Captain's Club. But, as I start to earn points in Captain's Club, how does that affect my status?

Your status points for sailing RC are separate from those collected for sailing on Celebrity. If you have higher status on RC, then you get reciprocal privileges on Celebrity (but no higher than Elite, regardless of your RC status). If your Celebrity status (based on accruing Celebrity Captain's Club points from sailing on Celebrity and/or Azamara)) gets to Elite or better, then you would use your Captain's Clun status when sailing Celebrity. The process works similarly for Captain's Club status when we sail on RC.

Hope this helps.

Elite+ can also get the specialty coffee and tea.I found that to be a wonderful perk. Congratulations on your new loyalty level after you complete your next cruise.

Just sticking my nose in to say We Love Celebrity! We are Elite and working towards Elite Plus just because we can! The perks are valuable to us and after just coming off a new RCCL ship I can't wait to rejoin Celebrity in April!!!

We have found the Captain's Club Elite Cocktail Hour (2 hrs) to be fun and a great place to meet people that love the same cruise line. Unlike our experience on Anthem where the passengers complained,so much, at cocktail hour we never went back and took our cocktails in another bar.

We switched cruise lines a few years ago and never looked back.

Thank you Celebrity for making us feel like home each time we board a ship!

:D
