PerfectlyPerth Posted August 6, 2016 #26 Share Posted August 6, 2016 Heard of all of them. Been to all of them. Lived in some of them. Would be more logical to name lesser known locations like Kellerberrin or Wyalkatchem or Wongan Hills or Paraburdoo if you really wanted to test folks ! Rare OzKiwiJJ Posted August 6, 2016 #28 Share Posted August 6, 2016 One of the things I love about modern technology is the ease of looking up places that you have never heard of before. In many cases you can even "walk" down the streets with Google Street View. Fascinating!

woodyren Posted August 6, 2016 #33 Share Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) very familiar with them all. Have been to Margaret River region. IMO Margaret River (probably due to wine region and the surf spot) and Broome are better known than Busselton and Geraldton. wishfulone Posted August 6, 2016 #34 Share Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) Live on the east coast but have been to all those places multiple times. We particularly love Busselton and its location on beautiful Geographe Bay. And Albany Harbour rivals anything on the Eastern seaboard. Busselton Have heard of it, but never been. My bestie's parents live there. Margaret River Have heard of it. Wine region? and Broome Have heard of it. Indiginous Australians area? ? I would love lots of responses. You don't need to KNOW about the places, just have heard (or read) about them. Many thanks to all who respond. Have replied in the quote! PerfectlyPerth Posted August 10, 2016 #40 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Broome Have heard of it. Indiginous Australians area? You know the indigenous population lives everywhere right ? Broome is high up the list for the caravanning grey nomads. Famous for its pearls and pristine beaches. Also prehistoric dinosaur footprints. People of all nationalities live there. wishfulone Posted August 10, 2016 #42 Share Posted August 10, 2016 You forgot famous for the camel rides on Cable Beach, especially at sunset. ;) And the Japanese Cemetery that honours the early Kimberley pearl divers many of whom died very young and a long way from home. Ted Egan wrote Sayonara Nakamura about a diver from Okinawa.

Albany - pleasant town that reminds me of Eden, NSW Busselton - another nice town and with a huge jetty Margaret River - not so much a place as a marketing strategy Broome - Nyngan with a beach
