Free drinks in casino?

My siblings and I am contemplating getting my mother a drink package for our upcoming Christmas cruise. This will be our first time on Royal but we have sailed Carnival several times. My mom likes the casino and usually donates quite a lot of money to the casino gods. On Carnival she received free drinks after donating a certain amount of money. Does Royal offer any type of free drink incentive package to encourage continued donations? We would hate to spend the money on a package if she will be getting free drinks at the casino. Thanks!

Well, The honest answer is maybe.

I am a member of club royale "RCCL's casino program" Up until march of this year, you had to be invited into the program... That invite was based your play on the cruise you were on. Once in the program, (on the next cruise) as long as you were playing in the casino they would give you drink tickets.

Here is where the maybe comes in. NOW all of the casino play is tracked on your sea pass (room key) and that sea pass will track all of your play. It is possible that if you played a lot, that the host might offer free drinks. (what most of the hosts do now is they put a sticker on your sea pass card, so that the bar servers know what to do) it is also possible at the end of the cruise, if you have accumulated enough play you could get a free cruise certificate for your next cruise.

The smartest thing might be to email the casino host on that ship ahead of time ( don't wait until you get there) Introduce yourself, tell them your mom plays on carnival and ask that SPECIFIC host how they deal with that ship. don't do it now. I would wait until about 2 weeks out (this will insure, 1. they might remember you and 2. the host would still be there and most likely not replaced as hosts do move in and out)

I know this is not exactly the answer you were looking for but... that's kind of the way it is at the moment.

RCCL is not even close when it comes to taking care of their casino players. Onboard Carnival ( 1st night ) I received card for free drinks rest of cruise. I'm a craps player, average bet around $45. On last night I received voucher for free cruise. Same exact play on all RCCL ships and I'ver never even been approached by host or Pit Boss...

Sorry you have not had a good experience. I can not speak to how they run the casino on carnival . Club Royale takes amazing care of me. I guess it's all about how much you play and for how long. ( the only confusing part for some people is that since the program is transitioning there are many unknowns which is why I had to answer "maybe" to the ops questions.

I am a club royale member and booked the Allure with a superior ocean view balcony through club royale and saved a LOT of money. I was shocked. They also told me I would get a sticker from the casino host for free drinks in the casino for the entire cruise. If you gamble it is worth calling club royale and getting a rate quote.

what you said is absolutely correct but as you said "you are a member of club royale" This is a perk if you are a member. If you are not a member it's a different scenerio. Thats why the maybe.

Did you call Club Royale. I heard about here on CC and they recognized my previous play. I don't know if they give free drinks as I always have PP on my card. However, on Oasis and Majesty, they knew my name and would bring my preferred drink without asking.

Same here. But I don't think I am a member but RCCL is aware of my play time/money. I have gotten nice discount on my 3 upcoming cruises. Enough so we can stay in a GS for nearly same price as a S Balcony.

I recieved this cruise from land based casino and was told free drinks in casino. Can you get your own drink at the casino bar or does a waiter have to serve you at a slot or table game ?? Is there a limit like carnival allows 15 a day

If you have this cruise through MLife, the rules are different...kind of. When you board, you may have a letter in your cabin from the Casino Host inviting you to come down and meet him/her once the casino is open. Ask about the drinks then. If you have any sort of communication from your land based casino mentioning the drinks, bring it with you.

You can get your own drinks or the waiters can serve you, either way is fine. And there is no 15 drink/day limit like Carnival has. There is, however, a monetary limit per drink of $12. If you order a drink over that limit, you pay the difference. However, depending on how well you get to know your Casino bar staff they may not charge you for that either.

It is through a Mlife casino....so the rules will be different can you tell me how it will work ?

Thanks for All the info this Sounds a lot better than carnival who makes you wait fifteen minutes between drinks and have to be served the drink while in the casino playing. I will call and see if I can get them to email something saying free drinks. I didn't know this the guy who booked me told me you get free drinks and priority boarding. Looking forward to sailing on allures This summer.

Sometimes the MLife folks don't talk to the Club Royale folks so the Casino Host doesn't have advance notice that a MLife player is on-board. That is why it is best to bring a copy of anything you can, just in case. As far as actually getting the drinks, you do have to be in the casino or at the casino bar in order to get the free drink, but for the most part, you can just walk up to the bar, order your drink, play 2 pulls on the slot machine and move on.

As far as priority boarding, I am not sure what to tell you. There are separate boarding lines based on your status with Royal Caribbean but I do not know where MLife fits into that. In 8 cruises, I've never had to wait in line so I have never checked on that.

So, the cool thing is that if you buy her the package, she uses it for a day or two, then BAM gets tons of free drinks from the casino, you could cancel her package for the remainder of the cruise... Unless they've changed their policy on this.

My friends cruised to Alaska last year, and bought the drink package when they boarded. They are experienced cruisers, so I'm not sure why they thought the package was $49 TOTAL (not per day). After the second day, they realized their mistake, went to guest services and cancelled the remainder of their package.

You could do this, but be warned, you will be charged individually for the drinks you have already consumed as if you did not have the package.

I think it is around 6k

I'm not sure where this figure came from but it's not accurate. They keep changing the program but as of a couple of weeks ago while I was on my last cruise, I was told by the Casino Host that participation is based on hours played not necessarily amount spent.

In addition, participation is only based on your last cruise. I've been given free drinks in the casino on my last 6 cruises, along with free cruise offers, but if I don't play enough on my next cruise, I won't be eligible for free drinks on the following cruise.
