RBAlbany Posted August 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Doing the Star in Alaska next summer. My favorite drink is draft beer. What options can I expect? While I'm at it, what can I expect as bottle options also? Thanks.

Astro Flyer Posted August 18, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) Not Longboard :( Nor Maui Brewing Bikini Blond. :( OP...recent discussions about draft beer indicate that Stella Artois is being replaced by Heineken and also Boddingtons is available on tap. Several years ago in Alaska they had Alaskan Brewing Amber in bottles but don't know if they're still available. neverbeenhere Posted August 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Very much true... Bikinied Blondes are rare on an Alaskan cruise. You might find a couple, if the weather permits.
Tedferg Posted August 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2016 I would think they'd have the Princess Seawitch Craft beer Denali Red; IPA and Blonde Lager.

RBAlbany Posted August 19, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted August 19, 2016 It is appearing there is not much variety of draft on Princess. Do all places offer the same two or three choices? Is there any one bar that has more than the two or three? We are talking Star Princess remember. This has been disappointing news. My wife and I are returning to Princess after trying NCL and RCI over the last few years. RCI Liberty of the Seas last summer impressed me both with their draft selection on the ship, and the options for the bottles. Hope this won't be a Princess deal breaker when we return to our Caribbean cruises. We are looking forward though to our return to Princess. It has been about 7 years. Caribbean Princess was our last one.
Esprit Posted August 19, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 19, 2016 I'm confused. Is the OP asking about craft beers or draught beers? On Royal Princess last week the only draught beers were Heineken and Boddingtons. The best selection of craft beers I ever saw was on Celebrity's Reflection where they had a bar dedicated to craft beers
RBAlbany Posted August 19, 2016 Author #12 Share Posted August 19, 2016 Draft (draught?) not craft. Either way not to successful with Princess.
sherryf Posted August 19, 2016 #13 Share Posted August 19, 2016 Several years ago in Alaska they had Alaskan Brewing Amber in bottles but don't know if they're still available. They used to have both Alaskan Amber and Alaskan Summer. Not any more. :( They have been replaced with the awful Seawitch beers. One thing we appreciated on HAL this summer was their wide variety of Alaskan Brewing beers.
neverbeenhere Posted August 19, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 19, 2016 I have never had an aluminum can draft beer! : ) The RDA on Aluminum is apparently 12+ cans a day, if I judge from some I have seen on cruises.
Cruiserkenn Posted August 19, 2016 #15 Share Posted August 19, 2016 On different Star Princess cruises, I have sometimes seen Stella Artois and sometimes Heineken as the available draft beer, at various bars. Enjoy! Bottoms up!

ekka49 Posted August 20, 2016 #18 Share Posted August 20, 2016 To put a spanner in the works. On Australian based ships it's Carlton Draught :) . It's a good drop for us down under. :D
