coldflame Posted September 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2016 Question: NCL allows to post casino cash withdrawals to be posted to your state room account (for a small fee). And then the whole amount is charged to your card -- i.e., the cash withdrawal doesn't show up like a cash advance in your statement, just lump sum for the whole stateroom account. Does RCCL work the same way? Or do we must bring cash to play (we loathe carrying cash states side)? TIA.
Clarea Posted September 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) RC allows you to get cash at the casino against your stateroom account for a 5% fee. Edited September 1, 2016 by clarea

Daghis Posted September 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2016 If you gamble enough, you may be able to qualify for "VIP" status with Club Royale. If you do get to be a member, they'll waive the 5% fee. Of course, I'm not sure what the qualification is at this point since the program is in flux (and has been since March). It had been that you had to earn 2,000 points on slots (not sure about table requirements). Each point is $5 wagered on slots or $10 wagered on video poker. I wasn't aware someone could at this time qualify for Club Royale as the program is in work. I think existing members are still members and those new people may play enough to qualify for cabin discounts but no new memberships are being offered at this time, maybe later. Not sure how much one would need to play to waive the fee currently, if not a member.

RFerrington Posted September 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted September 1, 2016 but no new memberships are being offered at this time, maybe later. Actually, I think it's quite the opposite. From what I understand, ANYone can now be a Club Royale member (no more "qualifying" required) - however, only the VIP members will qualify for certain perks (including the waiver of the 5% convenience fee). As Marc mentioned, the program is in utter chaos at the moment but all of the CR folks I have spoken with indicated that new members can sign up at will. ourfamilylovescruising Posted September 1, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2016 I just booked a free cruise because I am gold with Mlife and they said all fees are waived because of that and I have never been on RCCL ship so if you are a mlife member let them know and see what they say

I hope you are correct.... it sorta depends who you get on the phone.... but it has been discussed here so lets see what others say.. So, how do you come about your info as I talked to Club Royale as late as last week....
RFerrington Posted September 2, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 2, 2016 Me too. LOL As you said....I guess it just depends on who you talk to. I also chat with the casino managers and host/hostesses on each cruise. The last one (Freedom in June/July) was Alexander (Host) and Carlos (Manager). kevink Posted September 2, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 2, 2016 Excellent. Thanks! Fee is perfectly reasonable. Uhhhh, OK. To each their own. Personally, I'd look at it as the odds already being in the house's favor, and that taking 5% off the top is insulting the intelligence of the clientele. But someone has to pay for the shiny lights. Rare Cruise Raider Posted September 2, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 2, 2016 I just booked a free cruise because I am gold with Mlife and they said all fees are waived because of that and I have never been on RCCL ship so if you are a mlife member let them know and see what they say How did you get a free cruise with your Mlife gold status?? I have been gold for some time and never got any free cruises?? I am not arguing, just want to know how this can be accomplished. Every time I called RCCL, I was booking my cruise too far out and wasn't even offered the 20% discount. I have never had an issue with getting the discount on Celebrity, though. So, on Celebrity, you just talk to the casino host (It is helpful if you have your Mlife card with you) and the cashier was instructed to waive the 5% fee. I am on this site as I mostly cruise with Celebrity so was wondering if RCCL did things a little different.

I am on this site as I mostly cruise with Celebrity so was wondering if RCCL did things a little different. I got an email from Mlife saying we have team up with RCCL and we are offering you a complimentary cruise for up to 5 days either celebrity or RCCL I first called Celebrity but they said I only could do an inside and we wanted to add the kids so we would have to move up to a OV and then only get 500.00 off. so I call the next number for RCCL and they said I could do an OV and only pay 3rd and 4th with the kids so we did a 5 night on Dec 26th and while I was on the phone with her she said because you are Gold you are will receive these things for free and then she named them. so check your email My came out yesterday the lady I talk to said I was the first to book under this offer.
