I really like the upsell offers. I was recently upgraded to Penthouse Suite for a 10 night cruise on Diamond Princess from standard balcony cabin for the bargain price of $800. The email said they were only targeting elite embers with this offer.

careful everyone.

No-body make any sudden movements

10 days to go pheewww.:):D

Yeah, it's sneaking up on me. Guess I'd better start thinking about packing some clothes. Bugger, that means ironing! :(

Have to find the snorkel gear too. Can't remember where I put it. :(

Nah! All good fun. I'll be organized in plenty of time, as usual. ;) :D

A bargain price, indeed, for a Penthouse. But $800 is a fair chunk extra on a 10 night cruise when you're on a budget.

I am so glad it is all systems go again for Mrs & mrs and they have the $1400 back in their pockets again, even if some of that will go on drinks.

On board credit is good for drinks particularly when you get part way through the cruise and know you have to use it on something or lose it.

Drinks, excursions, spec rest, all out of the same pool.

I really cant see us drinking much, shes def not an island trip.:)

Oh dear! ROTFLMAO! I am going to remind you of that when you get back from your cruise. 18 sea days in a 28 day cruise, mostly in tropical climes, and you're not going to drink much? Sure! ;) :p :D

if you think you wont spend all the OBC set up your card at the casino and spend a few $$$$ on the pokies and hit collect and then cash out

did you book this cruise with princess direct

Sure did rkmw.

This is our 4th cruise, only once did we book through an independent T.A,never ever again.

We don't see the value of complicating, arrangements via a third party, and princess direct have always been good to us.

True as but still couldn't justify AIBP @ $1500 p/p.We would have to drink a hell of a lot in the last part of the cruise.

Plus we just cant handle it as much these days, must be getting older, or maturer.I Gueese:eek::eek:

P/S its actually the medications that throw everything out of whack, nowdays.

You do realise that 9 of those sea days are in the first part of the cruise, prior to your Bali port stop?

But, yes, meds can stuff up the drinking. Just watch those martinis, some of them are very strong.

all good Les.

I prob didn't explain it right so here goes.

Booked interior way, way back at great price.

Prob figured up-sells were coming as heaps of balconies left.

E-mail from Princess offering upsell $1400.

Sit-down discuss, post immediately on here.

Ring princess, ask about offer and are told, we will be provided with cabin choices.

NOW THE PROB STARTS.

Nice princess lady discusses our first choice of cabin, which is straight opposite, original interior.

We eagerly await choices, only to receive an e-mail, saying we are now booked in this new cabin.

Nice princess lady had booked us straight into new cabin.

Whoa hang-on we would have liked the list first, for other options.

Ring first nice princess lady who stated again we could rescind the offer.

Receive phone-call from second nice princess lady saying, they cant do anything as office is now closed in states.

Will have to wait till morning. But we may have lost original, but would be offered another.NNOOOO,not what we were told.

Receive another phone-call, from first nice princess lady, who apologised for the cluster-muck.

No phone call at six, in morning so decide to check e-mails and there it is original booking.

Receive phone-call from 2nd nice princess lady, and its apologies all round and kissy-kissy.

Exhausted and spaced out with to many anxiety pills.

Reason we changed our mind was,$1400,pays a lot of alcohol, or a cruise early next year, etc, etc.

We were told we had time to decide, but the mistake was that it was booked on our saying mmh that's interesting, but lets have a look first, discuss and decide.

Anyways all good now.

Black-cats asleep and not scared.:):)

Was still a great price on a balcony.

P/s I still don't know if this makes sense

Gotcha ladies, now I understand. Good cruising knowledge there too. We should all learn from your experience.

All the best and happy cruising on Golden Princess, we were on her for 30 days in March 2014, Buenos Aires to LA, we loved her, but then we like the Princess Grand Class ships. Skywalkers is bonza.

Yep,but we first have a 18 hr train trip, one night Sydney,19 hr flight to Biejing, arriving midnight, then up in the morning for tour, then another 4 days tours with one free day.

Then onto the tub and 2 days (sea) then japan, and so on and so on.

Really dosent ease up till we start sailing down to bali,to which we have no-interest in.

When we get to Darwin,we will head to our usual pub, when we get to bris,if we can we will head to The Wickham Hotel,to try and catch friends. If not stay onboard.

So the first half for us will be intensive, and sure wont be stuffing it up for the sake of extra drinks.

Second half not a prob, thats why we haven't done the AIBP.:):)

Overnight? Hope it's a sleeper train.

I like long distance train travel as long as I've got somewhere comfortable to sleep. Then it's like cruising by train. We've done a few "rail cruises".

I think you'll find it's not as hectic as you think. You've only got two port days in a row, in Vietnam. Having sea days between each port really does make the trip very pleasant and relaxing.

I'm starting to track the prices on the Diamond repo cruise in March 2018.22 days with only 7 port stops. Bliss!

Sorry to say its not,Linda gets the 2 seats to sleep,i get the floor or both sit up.Saved a bomb by not flying, have run out of frequent flyer points(just another saving),but have all day to sleep at airport hotel, before flight in morning.

Which one is that ?

I'll be in Darwin 2 days after you and will be having a schooner or 3.

Precinct tav,or round that area,i think we can walk there from ship. Not far,but saying that have never approached from sea-ward side.

In bris we will go to the wick, obviously a gay pub,but you would never know, right in the heart of the valley,or go to south bank, the plough inn,or the fox.Plough inn is brilliant and great meals.
