TPCRUISER2 Posted September 15, 2016 #104 Share Posted September 15, 2016 Love your review, following for next leg! Dan Dan has been with RCCL a long time. He use to call himself the party man. Guess he might have dropped that since getting married and having a child. Yes, Dan Dan the party man will always be a good time!
sg1phileshipper Posted September 16, 2016 Author #105 Share Posted September 16, 2016 That is one scary drive, didn't like having the window seat for those cliffside mountain roads/ I had a window seat too, but on the right side. I didn't even realize it was a scary drive! Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk

sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #109 Share Posted September 17, 2016 DAY 6: Bridgetown, Barbados We had no excursion booked, but as we have done before, we arranged a tour of the island of the pier for $20 each. But first there was the mandatory picture of Adventure docked The gorgeous water from our balcony Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #110 Share Posted September 17, 2016 Beautiful views from a hilltop We drove by the house where Rihanna lived as a kid, but that will be posted when I am home. Very pretty beaches here too It was interesting to see how they live. All in wooden houses, some in better shape than others. If one house goes up in flames, the whole street probably will. We drove up to Highland were the rich also live. And the have huge propertiez. The view from up there is pretty Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #111 Share Posted September 17, 2016 On our way up to Highland we got some torrential rain and it was interesting how it flooded the street. Tonight, the filet mignon was 20% off and you got Lobster on the side. The filet mignon was wonderful. Had never eaten lobster before, but I don't really like it. Table mate ate it Dessert porn, but only the fruit is mine Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #112 Share Posted September 17, 2016 (edited) Tonight's show was Jackpot, a Las Vegas production show, with Royal Caribbean's singers and dancers. There is one amazing female singer! I had a very interesting night on the balcony. First, I see a guy standing naked on his balcony! That, I didn't want to see... Then, sigarette smoke coming from somewhere. Um, where will the sigarette but go????? Docked on the port side today! sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #113 Share Posted September 17, 2016 DAY 7: Sea Day My favorite day on this cruise! I enjoy and love being on the ocean, with only water around you. We had the consecutive cruisers meeting at 11.30 up in Blue Moon. T-shirt was on and I gladly participated. Did lunch in MDR, ad we mostly did breakfast the entire week. Then straight on to the pool, for some sunning, reading, dancing. I had a great day. And it is interesting to see what Myla did to my blanket Mom's birthday is in October, but ordered the birthday cake tonight. It was really good and loved the surprise on her face! Waiters sang leaving on a jetplane accompanied by one of them on the guitar Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk
sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #114 Share Posted September 17, 2016 DEBARKATION/EMBARKATION DAY Sitting on our balcony and watching the Adventure backing up into the narrow port was really interesting. Docking is at port side, so I can't really see, but we stopped moving, so we're probably nearly docked. Pilot got dropped off before 5 It is a wonderful sail into San Juan in the early meeting Consecutive cruisers meet in the imperial lounge at 11. We need to get off, get immigration done and get back on when she is cleared. Special lunch for us between 12 and one in the dinning room. Four of our friends are getting off today. Meeting two of them for breakfast in MDR at 7.30. I hope to get some more ship's pic today. Already got a lot on my camera, but need them on iphone for you guys. sg1phileshipper Posted September 17, 2016 Author #117 Share Posted September 17, 2016 Met at 11 in the imperial lounge so we'd get taken off board. We got off between 11.15 and 11.30, got off the ship with old sea passes, thru custom in a breeze and back on the ship. As soon as we were onboard, other people came in. We had a special lunch in MDR and it was excellent Took quite a few ship pictures with no one in them. It won't let me post pics right now, so I'll have to do it later. Enjoying the sun on deck 12, near the pool bar, and it is windy. If you're onboard, you can't miss me in that orange shirt.... sg1phileshipper Posted September 18, 2016 Author #120 Share Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) After lunch we went up to the solarium playing. Once the rooms opened up I went down to put up my swimsuit. Spent the afternoon by the pool reading and watching people. The last part was very interesting. From my balcony I saw a guy walking on his balcony with a sigar on his hand. I didn't see him smoke, but I'll keep an eye on him. Muster drill at 5.45 and dinner at 6.30. We're at the same table, but different servers. Bought the soda package and was given diet sprite from a can in MDR. Two dogs on board, ****zu's I think. Left a little before 8.30, but no horn. Little sad at that. We'll do breakfast early tomorrow and then take a taxi to Maho Beach to watch the KLM 747 land and take off. So, tomorrow, beach day. Night all Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met Tapatalk Edited September 18, 2016 by sg1phileshipper
Alayne Posted September 18, 2016 #121 Share Posted September 18, 2016 Hi Cindy, I'll be following along with you. The stops on your B2B are the same ones that Kathy and I planned to take on our B2B back in 2011 but had to cancel because she got sick. At that time we would have been on the Serenade of the Seas. Have a great second week. Cyn
crisndeefromde Posted September 18, 2016 #122 Share Posted September 18, 2016 so enjoying your review so far. We have done 4 b2b on Adventure and then tried the Serenade 11 nighter southern route this past Feb. Love both ships but there is just something about the Adventure....the crew is amazing. we are always on the hump 8616 8620 area.....room attendants fantastic...have had Maria Johnson from Panama quite a few of those times....miss her... Hope your mom is having a fantastic birthday cruise...what a blessing to be traveling with your mom. Hugs
birdie16 Posted September 18, 2016 #123 Share Posted September 18, 2016 Cindy, Dave and I really enjoyed meeting you and your Mom. We were sorry we had to leave the Meet and Mingle so early but we had already planned to meet someone before we realized the party was almost at the same time. I think if the event had been earlier in the cruise there would have been a better turnout. I agree with you about the ship being in pretty good shape, some wear and tear but not bad and it really was clean. The biggest area we noticed the wear was in Studio B where there were several broken seats. All in all, considering the ship goes to dry dock in a month it really was in great shape. I love your pictures...I think if I zoom in we might even be in one of them. ;-) Lucky you...staying on another week. We really didn't want to get off the ship. birdie16 Posted September 18, 2016 #124 Share Posted September 18, 2016 One thing I would like to mention, we did not see a single mosquito the whole cruise and never used the bug spray we brought. I don't know if we were lucky or if the whole mosquito thing is just hype.
CntPAcruiser Posted September 18, 2016 #125 Share Posted September 18, 2016 DAY 6: Bridgetown, Barbados We had no excursion booked, but as we have done before, we arranged a tour of the island of the pier for $20 each. But first there was the mandatory picture of Adventure docked. Do you happen to recall if the tour operator had a name, or how we'd otherwise find them (if you would recommend the tour)? I'd appreciate a few details of what you got for your $20 each, size of group, vehicle, etc. Thank you!
