ccbee Posted September 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2016 On princess cruises the coffee in the buffet and dining rooms was made from syrup. To get a good cup of coffee one had to go to the International Cafe (Barista on O) first to get your coffee and then go to the buffet or dining room for breakfast. You could order a coffee from the International Cafe while in the dining room but it would take a long time to get it as the busboy had to run down to the IC and refills wouldn't work. Does 'O' have a similar coffee problem?
bitob Posted September 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2016 There is a professional quality espresso machine in the buffet (at the bar) and outside the gdr (baristas). Not a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
LAexNY Posted September 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2016 In addition, on the O class ships, those machines are in the Executive and Concierge Lounges. And I believe there is one in Horizons on all the ships.

Not very good imo but ok in a pinch Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare LHT28 Posted September 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) the coffee is ILLY from beans in the self serve machines & Barristas Fresh brewed at the bars & probably dining venues I found the machines are fine but it depends on how you like your coffee & how the self serve machine is programmed I do not think "coffee syrup" is in Oceania's vocabulary ;) Edited September 13, 2016 by LHT28
Rare LHT28 Posted September 13, 2016 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2016 No. Those are the self serve espresso machines. I think David was referring to the self serve machines

bitob Posted September 13, 2016 #9 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Also if ur in a suite your butler can make you a "real" coffee. On our last cruise our butler brought us amazing after dinner lattes (baristas closed then). He had access to a professional machine Sent from my iPhone using Forums
scamper Posted September 13, 2016 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2016 I think this is one of those occasions when I'm glad I never got hooked on the bean.
Rare PaulMCO Posted September 13, 2016 #11 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Would also hope that O takes a lesson from parent NCL and puts Nespresso machines in the suites.. Agree with Bob's comment on the self serve machines (IMHO) -- poor coffee. Best is Barista's and when in Terrace -- just ask for the coffee to be made at the Barista machine at the bar by the entrance.
bitob Posted September 13, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 13, 2016 I'm with Paul. Drinking a cup from my fabulous nespresso now. We would love to have one in the suite. I think on ncl they are only in the haven. Not certain Sent from my iPhone using Forums
nyfeds Posted September 13, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) Good to learn that there is decent coffee on O. Getting a good cup of coffee was always an issue for us on Regent. Maybe they used coffee syrup ;) Edited September 13, 2016 by nyfeds

potterhill Posted September 13, 2016 #15 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Love the coffee at Baristas. I am probably a rare bird, but I can't drink Nespresso. It gives me headaches. Mo Sent from my iPhone using Forums

ccbee Posted September 13, 2016 Author #17 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Thanks for the Good News everyone. Just have to have a good cup of coffee with all of those wonderful sounding desserts. And will definitely be visiting Baristas for a daily Macchiato (maybe even 2).
