Underwatr Posted October 3, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2016 A mile or two, about a half hour walk according to Google Maps. It might be hot. We took a cab, for what it's worth.

awhfy Posted October 3, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2016 It's an easy walk but on rough sidewalks for part of the way. I'd take a taxi to Boatyard Beach (about $4 each). Then pay the $15 each to get in. A chair a drink & transportation back to the ship when you're ready to go. Free wifi too, lots of the crews go there which is fun to see them enjoying themselves instead of working. kirkc Posted October 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2016 Another idea is Mullins Beach. On the Platinum Coast north of Holetown. Very nice beach and a good beach bar/restaurant. You can hire loungers. We rent a house next door to Mullins every winter. It is a wonderful 2weeks. Sent from my iPad using Forums
pepperrn Posted October 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Walking into town from the ship. How is lt? Is it far? An easy walk? Would be useful to know, going soon on queen victoria. Thanks in advance. Regards, mike.Hi silver service I walked (on my own) from the cruise terminal into Bridgetown, and back to QM2, a few years back. The walk took me approx. 25 minutes (not rushing) each way. The road, Princess Alice Highway, is straight and level, and takes you (via a bit of The Wharf Road) virtually straight into Central Bridgetown next to the Parliament Buildings. I wandered around, really liked the place. Along the Broad St shops, then made my way back to the ship via the highway which was easy to find. Look on google maps and you can easily see the route. The photos I took during my visit to Bridgetown can be found half way through this set: Would I walk it again? Yes, if with friends to chat with, otherwise if (if?) there was a shuttle, I'd take that, rest my feet, and spend longer in Bridgetown. Hope this helps :) . Have a great time on QV. maggiemou Posted October 4, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2016 Quite an easy walk . Not too far. Last year on QE we took a Cunard tour which was fantastic. To see the colourful houses and terrific scenery, a photographers delight. Well worth the trip. Have a good time.

Thanks in advance. Regards, mike. About a mile. Do use caution as Barbados seems to be getting really "seedy" in the last few years. We've noticed that the 3 big venues.."Diamonds International/Emeralds International/Tanzanite International" have put a lot of smaller vendors out of business. All the more reason we choose not to shop them. They are "owned" by 3 Indian families & employ many fewer local citizens than the local stores.
