Port of Miami Parking

Going to be driving to Miami for cruise in a few weeks and have decided to pay extra to park right at port. Need advice from those who have done this. Is it best to drop all passengers and luggage off before parking? Is there shuttle from parking garage or is it walkable distance? Traveling on NCL Escape, believe it departs terminal D. Any help/advice welcome.

The passenger terminals at the Port Of Miami are very close to the parking garages. The easiest way to get to the ship is to locate the garage closest to the pier. Park you vehicle, grab your luggage and take the short walk over to the terminal area. Hand over your luggage to porters, enter the building and enjoy your cruise.

First cruise we parked there, if I remember correctly it was cash only. I remember not expecting to pay cash but we had taken extra money because it was our first cruise and we were not sure how much to bring. Thank God we did. That was a few years back (06). Never did it again always went early and did snooze and cruise at a near by hotel. Room for the night, breakfast in the morning, parking, shuttle to and from, all one charge, always less then that parking charge.
