RRACING Posted October 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2016 We purchased the drink package for our upcoming cruise. Are tips already included in the price or will we be charged an additional 15% per drink at the end of the cruise. I just don't want any surprise charges. Jwglenn25 Posted October 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2016 I believe it is 18% that is added within the CHEERS package. I find it that when you leave a extra dollar or two bartenders remember you throughout your vacation and the pours and service go from good to great. I've had cheers a few times now and thats always been the case.

Gamecock_Cruiser Posted October 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2016 15% is already included, but that additional $1 per drink goes a LONG WAYS if you find a good bartender and stick with them. Just saying
flutepilot Posted October 17, 2016 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2016 I agree with the above posters. I always tip a dollar per drink even while on the package. Amazing what service DW and I get! Dan
sunshine&shiningstar Posted June 21, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2017 I plan on tipping extra should i do it on the receipt or cash.
ncshp955 Posted June 21, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2017 I always tip in cash to the bartender or waitstaff that serves us. That way it goes directly to them and not into a pool. They will remember you if you do tip extra. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
jimmyzwei Posted June 22, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 22, 2017 personally i find the extra tip makes no difference, it is usually the person themselves that waits on you -- i generally wait for the first few days and then i can tell who is deserving of a extra 5 or 10 spot. mufc99 Posted June 22, 2017 #12 Share Posted June 22, 2017 On our 8 day cruise I didnt see a single person pay any tips! I didnt pay any either, and tell you the truth it wouldnt have made any difference!
etwright Posted June 22, 2017 #13 Share Posted June 22, 2017 It is included in the price, but we always tip an extra $1 when we order.
cccer Posted June 22, 2017 #14 Share Posted June 22, 2017 I always tip extra even if I'm only getting a soda. The bartenders will notice you a lot quicker if you do. Last cruise I would walk up to the bar and never had to wait more than 30 seconds to get service, even if there was a bunch of people waiting. jgive Posted June 22, 2017 #15 Share Posted June 22, 2017 I agree with the above. I would also add a $1-$2 to each of my drink order. I got to know the Alchemy Bar staff quickly and whenever one saw me, she would start on a drink that she came up with herself (and wasn't on the menu). Just chatting with people goes a long way as well.
sunshine&shiningstar Posted June 22, 2017 #16 Share Posted June 22, 2017 i did not realize that the waiters and bartenders tips get pooled when it sign on the receipt. i think i will just tip the waiters and bartenders cash each so it's their money. I tip cash in the tip folder, you would not have a clue I tipped cash. We were on the Serenity deck and asked the lady next to us if she has seen a cocktail server. She said they never come by. About 10 minutes later a server appeared, we got our drinks and tipped him $2. He was back about every twenty minutes asking us if we were OK. We are in the service industry, tipping definitely matters

As soon as my bartender sees me, she would point to the end of the bar and my cocktail was waiting. I would go to the pickup station at end of bar, hand her the S&S card and I was on my way. I heard the comment of "what makes him so special...." :D
coevan Posted June 22, 2017 #19 Share Posted June 22, 2017 to add, we were at an A.I. in the Dominican Republic where tipping was not necessary. We tipped 10 DR dollars which at the time was about .80 cents. When the line was deep, we were just served our "usual" drinks right through the line. We were at the casino bar along with 50 other people and three bartenders. We would slide the empty glass, and Emalynn would place a full and take our card. A few people were mumbling.... but i had a drink and they didn't, so they can mumble along!
Rare Saint Greg Posted June 22, 2017 #21 Share Posted June 22, 2017 Does anyone know if you tip cash at a bar with multiple bartenders does it go to the bartender that served you or does it get pooled? If they give you a tip folder I put cash in that and sometimes they just stack up all the tip folders in one big stack..Or someone other than the bartender who served me picks up the tip folder. I wonder if it goes to the person who served me or not. I see it at the coffee bar as well. I think they probably get the shaft on tips so I always make sure to tip them. But sometimes it goes into a big stack of folders and the person who gets the stack isn't necessarily the person who made my coffee.
