Carry on wine

Has anyone else had their wine taken from their suitcase? My husband & I took 2 bottles of wine, one in each check in bag, according to the rules. One was taken with a letter stating that it was packed illegally. The same thing happened to my son & wife. Carnival Conuest

The rules state that the wine has to be in your carry on not in the checked luggage.

The wine is supposed to be carried on. They may have taken it thinking you were "smuggling" an extra bottle.

Carnival's rule is that wine must be in passengers carry on bag. If the wine is placed in your regular luggage it will most likely be confiscated and destroyed.

It's a good practice to read the rules on this before cruising. It's carry on bags not checked bags.

Thank you for the answers! I am an inexperienced cruiser & planned this vacation for our family of 8. I guess I got caught up in all of the excitement & missed this detail!

One bottle per adult, but no larger than 750ml. No big bottles!
