I play craps and blackjack. I've had good runs and bad runs. I've always loved the dealers and floor managers on cruise ships and found them to be personable. On our last cruise the floor manager bought me a beer, even though I probably don't even get close to enough points for the free drink card. Obviously their main goal is to keep you in the casino but she didn't have to do that.

I've been luckier in casinos on cruises rather than land based.

One time we couldn't dock in St. Kitts due to high winds so it became a sea day. I was disappointed since I had never been there at the time. Went to the casino and put a $20 bill in a quarter slot and hit for $2,000.00. Couldn't have cared less about St. Kitts after that...lol

On my first two Carnival cruises I won enough at the slots to pay for the cruises and all expenses. Sailed Splendor 5X that year on "casino money."

Two recent cruises on Sunshine didn't yield profit however, so I'm not always a winner but I have had some good luck on the ships over the years.

I've had good luck in ship casinos.

I hit a very lucky four-of-a-kind playing Let It Ride on FOS and won $1250 on that hand. Those winnings paid our entire onboard account (it was me, my husband and our two kids and included all our tips, excursions and drinks!).

On the Veendam I hit a Royal Flush playing Video Poker that paid out another $1200. Once again, all on-board costs covered and we walked off the ship with the rest.

On the Westerdam, I won the Blackjack Tournament that paid out $500.

Any casino success stories?

Hit a Royal Flush playing Ultimate Poker on the Gem in October. Have pics to prove it too! (but i don't know how to post them here.)

$5 table, $2,775 win. ($2500 on the blind, $250 on trips and $25 on the Ante & bet. Was dealt A10 Clubs, so nothing on the Ultimate pairs bet.

That was after winning about $450 the night before, so it was a good cruise! Gambled all week long, bought hubby a watch, myself a ring, purchased cruise next deposits and paid my onboard account in cash and walked off the ship with money! Yeah!

Editing to add: The slots were super tight on this ship compared to both my sailings on the Spirit.
