hollydog Posted November 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Just wondering about obstructed view cabins on deck 8 (Emerald) on Caribbean Princess. Is the bed under the window or against a wall?
Astro Flyer Posted November 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Just wondering about obstructed view cabins on deck 8 (Emerald) on Caribbean Princess. Is the bed under the window or against a wall? We've had both configurations but as I recall it's most often under the window as shown in this photo of an unobstructed OV cabin. Tina G Posted November 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2016 We have had many OV cabins, and they have all been with the bed under the window. You can always have the twin bed configuration, and it is easier to see out your window. Otherwise, you have to kneel on the bed to get a good look out. Belle Posted November 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Had the bed on the wall on the Star. So don't know if each ship is different.
fishywood Posted November 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2016 To the best of my recollection, Caribbean Princess oceanview cabins on Deck 8 all have the beds under the window, same as the previous Grand-class ships (Grand, Golden, Star). However, the next generation build of Grand-class ships (Crown, Emerald, Ruby) have the beds perpendicular to the side wall in their Deck 8 oceanview cabins that do not have upper berths. JWUC Posted November 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2016 We just sailed the CB in September. Obstructed view - bed was against the wall. I think our cabin was E225. It looked like most of the cabins on the deck were setup the same way.

beckntom Posted November 7, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 7, 2016 We were in an obstructed OV on the CB, and our bed was on the wall. Made for great viewing out the window.
Rare Essiesmom Posted November 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Generally speaking (had a high school science teacher who used to say "All generalizations are false - including this one') if you have a quad cabin the beds will be under the window. If the cabin is only for two - no bunks - the beds will be on the side wall. EM
WAussieSFO Posted November 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted November 7, 2016 Disembarked the CB on Saturday, the bed was against the wall in E311.
