WOW...I started reading your review and we will be in the exact SAME CABIN in December!

Please tell me about the room. Was it noisy, any problems? Was the location good? Was there much movement? Anything else noteworthy?

Thank you for the review!

The cabin was great.[emoji106]🏾 No noise, no problems. Location was very very nice. You will love it! ❤️[emoji7]

Willdra, you should be headlining at the Punchliner!! Patti and I can't stop laughing. W is one lucky man. Can't wait for the rest. :D

Crusin Karen: There's plenty of room on the Magic for you and Jim next October!! Right Willdra? :D

That's the best compliment ever Jamman!! [emoji2] Thanks a ton!! [emoji106]🏾

I agree, the Magic is huge, it never felt "crowded". Even at full capacity. [emoji6]October is a great month to sail.

Day 6-Grand Turk

It's my birthday y'all!! The BIG 47!! I woke up around 8:30 wondering why we were still moving. Did we miss port?? Is there a storm somewhere that I don’t know about?? What's really going on? My nosiness drove me to get up and check the app to see if there was an announcement. No. Nothing. Nada. It just said "Welcome to Grand Turk" which was strange because we were still in the middle of the ocean. Oh well now that I'm up, I have no excuse to keep me from going to the gym. Darn. I got dressed slowly while checking and responding to some birthday messages. Before I left 2252, I grabbed the paper Funtimes to throw into my bag, and duh, we weren't scheduled to get to Grand Turk until noon! Insert forehead slap! How in the world did I miss that?!?! I could've procrastinated more and I totes missed that opportunity! Well there's always tomorrow, and yes I did just procrastinate procrastinating. Ha! I'm good like that!

Somehow I coaxed my body out of the door to walk up the 10 flights of stairs to deck 12. When I am going to workout it seems wrong to take the elevator, so I always walk up. And back down. It also serves as my warm up since I was just asleep mere minutes ago. Remember?

I dropped my 8.25 mile run in the bucket then went in search of husband and food, in that order. W was waiting in the cabin so we immediately went up to catch the Lido buffet before they switched over for lunch. I got everything that I wanted so I was feeling great! Full, fat, and Happy Birthday to me! W and I bet on if the cabin steward was done yet and of course I won! Putu gets off at 1, so he doesn't mess around between 12-1! He keeps it moving!

W and I make a big deal about our birthdays especially since his is 7 days before mine. He had my gifts all laid out ready to be torn into when we got back, so I had to pause for the cause. I will briefly admit (because I know y'all won't tell him that I said this) that he spoils me rotten! I got everything that I wanted and then some. Quick shower and yes I went to breakfast stinky (I don't plan on ever seeing these people again). Shortly we were out the door. I loved being in a forward cabin, because all we had to do was go down 2 flights and we were at the gangway. When we get back, we just go up 2 and we were home. No waiting forever for those elevators to come. It was a nice short walk down the pier and we were on the beach in no time.

Grand Turk is spectacular, so my main priority is always to take as many pictures as I can here! W wanted to get in the water, (surprise) so he prepared for that while I generally just laid around consuming air and space. That was my only function. I'm a pro at it!

Day 6~Part 2

It got late quick as always when we are having fun and it was time to get back on the ship. I took my last few pictures of the ships before we shoved off.

We detoured and hit up Del Sol on the way. We also had one more purchase to make, so I needed a little time in the Dufry shop. After searching for a few minutes I hit the jackpot and found what I was looking for! Now we can continue with the regularly scheduled program. It was a slow herd migration getting back on as The Glory was also hopping with passengers returning.

30428475761_f53b561369.jpg

We saw this guy dancing outside of The Glory at every port and I'm mad that I didn't realize it until now. He has his boom box going with The Spice Girls and other “girlie” groups like that. He seems like he is extremely happy with himself and he doesn't care who knows it! #Work it!!

Day 6~Part 3

We had more liquor to turn in so we made our way over to that table. Just two quick flights of stairs up and we are back in 2252. We just needed to put our wallets back in the safe so we were back out of the door again in a few minutes.

Our favorite clamshell was waiting for us on Serenity so we claimed it and tucked in for the rest of the afternoon.

22767285478_4971727b0d.jpg

I wanted to see the Glory leave so I kept asking W if it was still there. They were blowing the horns a lot so I couldn't tell if they were just playing or if something was really about to happen. Eventually The Glory did back up and go all around the back of The Magic, and I got a front row seat to snap tons of pictures. Dang I should've brought the real camera now I’m going to have to make more room on my phone until I can download these pictures to Flickr!

I don't know why, but time flew by again (somebody really needs to look into this) and it was getting dark. I felt some moisture dropping on me and sure enough it was sprinkling so we went back to the cabin to get ready for dinner.

Day 6~Part 4

Tonight we were dining in the Cucina Del Capitano, and I was really excited about everything there that contained cheese! A fast shower and lip gloss application later and we were ret ta go! The Cucina was not busy at all so it was a very relaxing meal. I actually got pictures of the food this time because W had his afternoon snack of a deli sandwich. Plus it was my birthday, so he was acting all “nice”.

30201448090_54ed371eff.jpg

For starters we had Arancini and Calamari. Followed by Chicken Parmigiana and Steak. They also brought out Roasted Potatoes and Spaghetti as sides.

Day 6~Part 5

We both had Tiramisu for dessert and since I didn't need to take a picture of W's he inhaled it! Instantly! I swear I just took 2 pictures of mine then I looked over at him and saw this empty dish! What the?!?! This is why we can’t have nice things!

W's Tiramisu (may it rest in peace!)

As soon as I was done, he started in on mine too. He really loves dessert ya’ll! After dinner we went down to the Main Lobby to catch the 90's Music Trivia. There were lots of laughs and Rev. Dr. E. was in rare form as usual!

When that wrapped up we browsed the picture gallery, but it was a madhouse so we opted to go back another time.

I wanted to catch the 11:30 Comedy Show so we got ready for it. We arrived at the lounge at 11 and we just barely got a seat! Since it was raining the deck party was canceled so peeps had nothing to do but go to the Comedy Club. Well they must've all decided to gather here and wait together because it was packed!! The Comedian was Lowell Sanders and he was really good. The best so far in my opinion. When the Comedy Show was over, it was time for tea and ice cream, then bed.

Before I fell asleep, I said a quick prayer thanking God for great DNA because I do not look or feel like a 47 year old!

Happy belated birthday!! Loving the review. On our last trip to Grand Turk in May there were quite a few vendors walking through the beach chairs selling goods and services. They were quite territorial and at one point I got very uncomfortable with two of them arguing right behind me. (One of them believed that another had stolen his customer.) Did you experience that? I certainly hope that it was a fluke because Grand Turk has been one of my favorite ports.

Wildra, sounds like you had a fabulous birthday! :D jc4me, I have been to GT 5 or 6 x and have NEVER had ONE vendor approach me. We are usually one of the lst off the ship and park our fannies on a lounger on the beach. Evenutally we will wander over to Margaritaville to check on the action. Have never been to Jack's Shack. Have also gone for a walk past the astronaut exhibit and down the "right side" of the pier to check out the conch graveyard. Have never had anyone walk up to me at any of those areas. GT is our favorite port of call. :);)

Thank you! :D We've been to Grand Turk a few times and that has never happened to us. I honestly can't remember ever seeing a vendor there, so I think that definitely was a fluke. The security guard must've been napping. LOL :o

Good to hear! Actually I was about to pack up and leave before the security guard came and stood close to where I was. He was talking with the guy that was being threatened by the other fellow. Seemed more like Jamaica than Grand Turk!

Thank you so much for writing this review! We are considering this ship and itinerary for a fall family cruise next year, but we've never sailed Carnival (see signature) Your photos and descriptions are extremely helpful!

Love all the food photos, as we have really enjoy the MDR on RCI and would really miss not having something comparable. Everything I see so far looks great! The other casual dining lunch locations look very good too.

One thing we've really grown fond of is the royal promenade on the RCI ships that is open for to aft inside, 4 decks high. Makes navigation in the ship a breeze, and a grand feeling inside the ship. How is the navigation on the Magic? Are the atrium areas grand feeling, crowded?

Thanks again for your review. Love it so far.

On our Halloween cruise we ate at the Cucina on the first night. The service and food is fantastic. I wanted to order the roasted potatoes for dessert, they were that good.

Thanks so much for reading along! [emoji7]The Main Lobby area is huge on The Magic. This is where Rev. Dr. E usually does his music trivia parties. You can watch it from Decks 3, 4, or 5 and even though we came late, we could still find a spot to see everything. [emoji16] There are more pictures of the ship itself in my last review also. Totally random thought from seeing your "thumbs up" emojis followed by the brown patch: on my iPhone, when I hold my yellow "thumbs up" for a second it gives me a choice of colors. I've never used an app to post in these boards. Does it limit your emojis on the app?

Edited to say: I loved this review! It's getting me in the mood for my upcoming cruise. :)

I use the Cruise Critic app when I'm on the go because it's much easier than the desktop [emoji335]version for me. It also allows me to use all of the emojis on my iPhone. Even though I can see them in the app, some of the emojis don't look the same on the desktop version. I really like the app though, it's a lot faster and more user friendly in my opinion. Great! I keep saying I'll give it a try & then I always go back to my desktop. I told my "adopted" daughter yesterday that I think I've become that adult I never wanted to be...trying to catch up to technology! Just too busy to keep up! :p

When I do get the app & try it, I'll come here first to let you know. :)

Day 7- Last Sea Day

Day 7- Last Sea Day

Neither one of us was in a hurry to get up so we woke up late, which was around 10. We showered, got dressed, and jumped on the elevator. I noticed that we were up to Deck 5, but W was not getting off, so I asked him where we were going. He said “I thought you wanted to go straight to Serenity.” " Huh?? No Sir! We have one last Sea Day Brunch on this cruise, and we are gonna get it! Are you new here? We do this every time." As I mentioned earlier, I'm not very happy when I first wake up. I really shouldn't be allowed to interact with humans until I've had coffee! So here's my official apology to anyone who passed me and spoke or tried to hold a conversation with me in the morning. Please try again after coffee. I promise you it’s a much better experience!

We backtracked down to 3 and into the Southern Lights Dining Room. I’m really really gonna miss this!!!

After we were seated I asked the server for chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, and cheddar grits with extra cheddar. The server paused and said "oh double cheese?" OMG Yesssssss!!!! Why didn't anyone tell me this was a thing??? I could've gotten extra cheese all along???? I wanted to jump up and hug 17 random people and a baby! Now I'm sad though for the ghost of cheese past, and elated for the ghosts of cheese present and future!!! Things are looking up!!

I love the lemon cake in these baskets:

Life on a plate!

Next, the bar server came over, and I ordered my standard blue margarita on the rocks with no salt. W orders a Blue Moon unopened. He says “ok you will have to pay the deeference”. Huh??? I’ve never had to pay a “deeference” before. I knew I was premature in my morning happiness and celebration(starts sipping coffee rapidly hoping it will kick in quick)!

I did notice that the coupon had a maximum amount of $9 in the fine print, so worst case scenario, this would be .25. Then he asks for my card. At this I rolled my eyes so hard, it hurt. When he walks away, W says “don't worry I'll bet there's no extra charge, he must not know”. Sure enough when he came back we didn't get charged and the drinks were correct, (which was another concern). I scooped the ice out of mine and life was great again.

Bare necessities

29869146774_a0644e46a0.jpg

We ate then went in search of a place to sit for the day. W wanted Serenity, and I had no preference so that's where we went.

Day 7~Part 2

We found a good spot on Serenity and settled in.

25310302389_cd8094bb30.jpg

30383037172_65034fa3ff.jpg

Well about 29 minutes and 18 seconds later W looks at me and says it's about to rain. Really??? We just got here!! Maybe we can wait it out. Uh no. No way. We sailed right through a full blown storm with no end in sight. It was raining squirrels and monkeys out there! We joined the mass exodus away from Serenity and sought shelter on our balcony. I looked out and it seemed like we would have inclement weather off and on, so we decided to stay close to home base.

30644337280_f82d62383c.jpg

30946307585_f090367857.jpg

As is customary in the Caribbean, the rain stopped but we were so comfortable that we stayed put on our balcony.

Me in my old lady reading glasses

30499744915_02d5f5a55b.jpg

Pretty soon my eyelids got really heavy (because breathing makes me sleepy), so I went to rest them for a couple of hours while W went to the casino.

When my eyes were sufficiently rested, and I could lift my eyelids again, it was time to go to the Past Guest Party. This one was held in the Main Theater. I could see why once we got there, because it was huge. On this cruise there were a lot of Diamond Guests on board. Most of them were not at the party, they were in the casino. Like I said in my last review, when I make Diamond I am going to somersault on the stage like Gabby Douglas and land in a split like Serena Williams!! I will be there for it and I plan on enjoying every minute! I had a few fruity drinks and some sushi at the party. W had 3 or 4 beers. He tips when they bring him one, so they pretty much keep coming after the first tip. It was a good party because Rev. Dr. E. was the host! We have sailed with him 3 times now and loved him every time.

SN: for the next cruise I will learn the officer's insignia and those Carnival Ships so that I'm ready for the games!

We left the party and strutted over to Pixels to check out our photos. I’ll have to admit that we were feeling kinda “happy” after the drinks that we consumed at the party. I’m not talking about “mmmm this tastes like real butter happy, I’m talking about Julie Andrews twirling around like a mental patient on a mountaintop kind of happy! I think we may have actually skipped and giggled a little. Ok more than a little!

Day 7~Part 3

I used my free photo coupon that our cabin steward gave me for my birthday, to get one of the port photos. It was not included but I was able to pay the difference which was $4 (I didn’t mind paying the “deeference” this time!) . W threw away the picture that I really wanted because he said it was messed up. I know him better than that though. They can reprint it for you if you want to buy it. He just didn't like it so he thought he would be sneaky and put it in the bin. 🤔

30463244166_2c5a474c52.jpg

Next we passed thru the gift shop. There really wasn't anything that I had to have in there, so we came back to start packing. Wahhhhh!!!

I sat on the balcony taking selfies and looking at social media while W was packing then we switched up. I hesitantly got done with my packing and got ready for dinner. Early.

This was the first night that we actually waited a few minutes for them to open the dining room doors! I finally got my life together on the last night!!!

The final night is always bittersweet and this was no exception. We got to the dining room and it was actually packed. Do people wait to go on the last night? Maybe. I had the Mango Cream and Prime Rib. W had Beef Carpaccio, Mussels, Shrimp Cocktail, and Prime Rib.

Mork and Mindy did not show on this night either, so they will forever be a mystery. If anyone sees them, please tell them that they missed having dinner with a fun couple who are not bread thieves! Don’t tell them what W did to that poor Tiramisu tho, it may scare them!

The servers sang that evil "Leaving Our Funship" song and then we danced to Gangnam Style. We ran out immediately after that because we wanted to catch Lowell Sanders' 9:30 Comedy Show. (Yes, it is truly miraculous that we skipped dessert!) I was surprised we could still find seats and we got there around 9:15. There was also a party in the Main Lobby that Rev. Dr. E. was hosting so prolly a lot of people went to that. I don’t blame them for catching his last show! I know it was turnt up! I'm glad that we chose to see this show because the 11:30 show was a repeat. Lowell was very funny again. We could've gone back in afterwards to see Mike Pace again because the line wasn't long at all. We didn't tho because we needed to go throw our suitcases out into the hall. Sniff Sniff Tear.

Once that unpleasantness was taken care of, we went up for our last late night ice cream fix and hot water for my tea. We sat out on the balcony for a little while and talked about how much fun we had on this cruise.

Before I fell asleep I said a quick prayer thanking God that I found out about the double cheese grits! When the server told me about it, I immediately ascended to unheard levels of euphoria!
