how to carry wine around ship?

I was accused of "schlepping" my bottle of wine from the cabin to the dining room on the Celebrity boards. That poster knew in his own little mind that the only appropriate way to get the bottle from the cabin to the dining room was to request his cabin steward to deliver it. As long as I can carry a bottle myself, I'll continue to do it my way and not worry what someone else thinks.

Strange what some worry about, I was accused of being "Common" and "Uncouth" because I carry a Diet Coke in with me (it's the only way to get a big glass) but hey I'm ok with that description.

Funny thing is I often dine with people that would be considered "Sophisticated" - and it's the norm to carry your drink from the bar into the dining room.

Don't know if Celebrity still do this but years ago when you entered the dining room with your drink they would take drink from you place it on a tray and escort you to your table. Very swish.

I know Princess do, Celebrity I didn't need to worry as they always gave me cans, and Usually bought me two at a time. Princess in the MDR use dinky little glasses that I can drain in a mouthful so I'd just take a cup from the pool bar, where they use a good size cup.

I'm thinking about taking the allotted 2 bottles of wine on my RCCL cruise next month for the first time. Do I just carry the bottle from the room to the dining room? Is there something for sale somewhere that will look a little more classy? I would feel weird just carrying a bottle all around the ship! (I posted here since it seems like a generic question) Thanks!

Well, there's always the brown paper bag.:D

But, if you really want something to carry it in, surely you can find something here.:)

Maybe a leather bota bag? https://www.amazon.com/Leather-Bota-Bag-Wine-Skin/dp/B000GFHD6I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479441347&sr=8-2&keywords=leather+bota+bag

They are fine for the middle east and the mediterranean but somewhat unfashionable for the Caribbean or the south pacific.

Maybe the OP could start a new fashion trend for cruising. :rolleyes:

You're joking, right?

Maybe just a little. :D

That's what wit means.:D

One time when I asked for a red sauce on mine, I'm sure they thought I was committing a mortal sin.

Wit = with fried onions

Whiz = with Cheese Whiz

Since I work in Center City I get mine at Steve's Prince of Steaks I will order just "Wit" and see if they ask what kind of cheese just to test my understanding.

Red sauce? :eek: You are lucky they didn't take you out back and burn you at the stake for heresy.:D

Yes, this is a major issue for those not from the Philly area who are wondering.:D
