Is the Empress deck a desireable deck on any of the Carnival ships?

Was told this deck is beneath the dining rooms and the kitchen and there's a lot of noise. Is that true?

FWIW, on the Fantasy class ships, we prefer the Empress deck rooms (forward). They're just off the Atrium and under the stores and theater. Not much noise during sleeping time.

What ship are you talking about? Look at the deck plan of the ship your planning to cruise on. As an example, the Magic Empress Deck has cabins above and below as do many other Carnival ships. We have stayed on the Empress deck before and did not notice any excessive noise.

Splendor looks good. Imagination I would avoid cabins between mid-ship and aft elevators. Also cabins in front of atrium elevators.

Deck plans available on-line. I keep a Carnival Cruise Brochure that any travel agent will give you that contains deck plans for all Carnival ships. I get a new one each edition so it shows most recent drydock changes.

We had a mid-ship Empress deck on the Sensation and it was great except for two nights when some kids were running up and down the hall (didn't last long) and then some drunk people were being noisy in the hall and slammed doors a couple times. Nothing woke us up or kept us from sleeping.

Yes, we just came off the Fantasy class Paradise, with Empress deck cabin E9. I agree this deck is attractive, for convenience to atrium, stores, theater, and in our case forward Elation dining room.

On fantasy class I like Empress fwd....but not far fwd....just steps from the atrium bar...just one flight up to the fun shops and main theater....You can hear noise from the theater if you're trying to sleep during a big show....other than that its great.

Agreed, we didn't hear any noise from the upper deck on the Fantasy. Staying on Empress deck on the Ecstasy this July, also.

I believe the cabins under the dining room should be fairly quiet - however if you are under the Galley I have read about early morning noise as meal prep starts very early!

We've been on Empress more than any other deck and have never had any problems.

Best bet though is to always look at a deck plan before booking. Besides the galley, be careful of large blocks of blank space especially behind interior rooms as many of these are living and work areas for crew and can be noisy at times.

We were on the Empress deck on the Ecstasy last year, we had a porthole (E7, I believe. It might've been E3 though.), and the only noise problem we ever noticed was the anchor dropping on the mornings we were in port. But as long as you aren't sleeping in on port days, I would say you'd be comfortable there.

I loved that deck on the Fantasy, I was in the rear and there is a small back staircase to the hot tubs, buffet, and lido deck in the very back. It is also quiet under the dinning room.

Just stayed in E1 on Imagination. Probably won't choose this room again as it's right next to a very active steward area as well as steps away from the room service station. There was also noise from bow thrusters, but not so much that it was offensive. The worst part was definitely being neighbors with the main stew closet.
