reneeandgeoff Posted February 6, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Hi we are sailing in April 2017 with 2 little ones, and it would be helpful to know about the TV inputs,i.e is there a HDMI cable input or a USB or both. Would be nice to be able to put a movie on for them at night, even us as it means early nights! Is there a DVD player? We are in D722 a mini suite. Thanks in advance

Cruisin' Chick Posted February 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2017 there should be one channel devoted to family friendly movies.
floridalover5623 Posted February 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2017 I can't say for sure but if the TV's are still the older type like the other Princess ships then yes they'll have an HDMI input.
JF - retired RRT Posted February 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2017 You'll also have 2 TVs in your mini. You may be able to change channels independently using the buttons on the TVs. Unfortunately, the remotes control both TVs at the same time (at least they did for us - mini one time). If there are HDMI connections, the kids can watch one and you can watch another. Plus, as noted, there are several kid friendly shows on all day long.
Aulanis Posted August 13, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2018 Anyone been on Golden recently - since April 18 refit? Wondering if OC cabin Tvs have USB in facility?
Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 13, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2018 If you are able to upgrade to a full suite, they do have DVD players in those cabins. That might be a long shot, though.
msled Posted September 4, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 4, 2018 Sailing Golden on Sept 11 to Alaska in a regular balcony cabin. Can anyone give info on if the Golden now has Video on Demand? Also, can a computer be attached to the TVs to play downloaded movies? Thanks
princess09 Posted September 5, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2018 We were on the Golden after the drydock in April. NO ON DEMAND TV. We had 6 consecutive sea days and we missed being able to pick up a movie where we left off.
moki'smommy Posted September 5, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 5, 2018 We got off the Golden on August 25 in a full suite. We had the "new" 42 inch TVs. There was no DVD player in the room; don't know if we could have gotten one on request. The way the TV was mounted on the wall, it would have been very difficult to hook up an HDMI input. We honestly didn't watch TV, so I don't know if it had the "on demand" feature that we'd previously enjoyed on the Caribbean Princess.

Followed by an embarrassing explaination to some maintenance guy about why you tore the tv off the wall? :)
floridalover5623 Posted September 5, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 5, 2018 Followed by an embarrassing explaination to some maintenance guy about why you tore the tv off the wall? :) Not really. I leave our TV not fully pushed in all the way at the bottom (it's hinged at the top) & when we had someone come to our room to adjust our AC they noticed it & just snapped it back in. It happens all the time. No explanation necessary.
