jints07 Posted February 12, 2017 #26 Share Posted February 12, 2017 OP you rock! Good looking out! I would never in a million years have found that. Heck, I didn't even know any of those offers existed, haha.
Mistizoom Posted February 12, 2017 #27 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Sweet, I just added this to my and DH's Blue Cash Everyday cards (same account, I am authorized user). Last year I used it to buy OBC, this year it will go towards next year's cruise.
jints07 Posted February 12, 2017 #28 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Hopes4 - Do you know if I could prepay service charges with 1 transaction and buy OBC with another, and if the total of the 2 is $500 or more, would it count for the promo? signora Posted February 12, 2017 #29 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Got the offer on two cards (Blue)--thanks to the OP for the alert about this! Using it to pay for next summer's Baltic cruise on the Breakaway!
jaja Posted February 12, 2017 #30 Share Posted February 12, 2017 I have an AE card which I have never used.....and checked website..NCL is a listed offer....:) My final payment is not due till July..and I have prepaid services charges and UBP .so I assume only way to get the $100 OBC is to make a $500 payment on the cruise ahead of time. :(

Win, win.
punkincc Posted February 12, 2017 #32 Share Posted February 12, 2017 Damn! I just made a small payment with my Hilton Amex card hoping it would trigger an offer! I pulled up the list of offers on our Hilton Amex card and it is not listed as an offer. Too bad as both DH and I have cards.

It is an instant $100 rebate on your Amex card after you spend the $500. It's a no-brainer to pay off $500 for your cruise by April 30 instead of waiting until July. lluv2cruise Posted February 13, 2017 #35 Share Posted February 13, 2017 This is great! Question, so I booked my cruise with a deposit on 2/4/17 (before the amex promo began on 2/10) but if I put a payment of $500 down now, I will get the $100 credit? I did add the offer in my Amex acct. TIA

Sweet $200 savings on this cruise! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Rare EllieinNJ Posted February 13, 2017 #37 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I have already made final payment. I would like to use the Amex offer to pre-pay the gratuities and maybe purchase more future cruise credits. Do I have to go thru my travel agent? Also, the terms and conditions say not good for onboard purchases. Should I just order OBC and can I pay the grats and fccs from that?
Heather1972 Posted February 13, 2017 #38 Share Posted February 13, 2017 If I was to buy $500 OBC, can I get that as cash at the casino some how?
Rare CTCruiser001 Posted February 13, 2017 #39 Share Posted February 13, 2017 If I was to buy $500 OBC, can I get that as cash at the casino some how? You can get it as cash at the casino desk but there is an 3% fee. I have heard there is a way to load obc from your card directly to the machine, so in theory you may be able to do that, cash out and redeem without paying the fee. Not sure about this though. I remember the last time this offer was around, someone purchased excursions after final payment and got the credit to his AMEX account. Not sure about OBC or pre-paid grats. ilovetotravel1977 Posted February 13, 2017 #41 Share Posted February 13, 2017 AMEX Canada doesn't have this offer, just got a message on twitter. Dang it.
grace#11 Posted February 13, 2017 #42 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Thanks for posting this OP! We received this deal last year when we made our deposit on our upcoming cruise, and just got it again when I made a payment.
Regguy Posted February 13, 2017 #43 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I am not sure. I remember the last time this offer was around, someone purchased excursions after final payment and got the credit to his AMEX account. Not sure about OBC or pre-paid grats. /QUOTE] I pre-paid gratuities for a cruise earlier this year. It was on a Chase card, not an Amex card. (Did it to meet a new card spending bonus.) It posted as "NCL Reservations USD Miami FL." I think if it posts the same way on Amex it will qualify for the offer. Obviously, a small sample size, but FWIW. jenf22 Posted February 13, 2017 #44 Share Posted February 13, 2017 I called to put $500 OBC on my account and received the "Congratulations" email from AMEX. So it looks like it worked. I'll know for sure in a couple of days when the charge goes through. I had to call NCL because no matter what I do, I can't get an OBC purchase to actually take via the website. Really annoying but worth it for $100 :)

BabysBday Posted February 13, 2017 #46 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Thanks ktpc2005 & doitforlove for the heads-up and reply! Just purchased the Thermal spa suite and OBC, which triggered the AMEX offer email :)
tmilak Posted February 13, 2017 #47 Share Posted February 13, 2017 Is this how this offer works?? I charged $500 on my AMEX and got an immediate $100 credit to my CC account. I thought I was getting an OBC? Oh well, this is just as good as I already have $800 OBC from my TA.
VacayVik Posted February 14, 2017 #48 Share Posted February 14, 2017 It just worked for me too! I bought 2 thermal passes and pre-paid the gratuities. Instantly, I received the email stating the OBC has been confirmed! Woot Woot! 13 days to go, amazing timing!
