Rare cruisestitch Posted February 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2017 If we wait to book on board in order to use OBC, does anyone know the cost of the Celebrity transfer to FCO?
Wine-O Posted February 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2017 If we wait to book on board in order to use OBC, does anyone know the cost of the Celebrity transfer to FCO? I saw it reported several years ago as $95pp.
Rare villauk Posted February 22, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2017 (edited) If you do a search, there was a thread recently with exactly the same question you are asking and someone replied with the details ;). I'm sure the thread title was also the same as yours. Others provided comparisons with local transfer providers too. Here's another thread ($75pp quoted): http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=52217580#post52217580 Edited February 22, 2017 by villauk
Rare cruisestitch Posted February 22, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted February 22, 2017 I've been trying to search but poor Cruise Critic -- search went down again -- there are pesky intermittent issues with the boards -- thanks for the pointer to the right thread --
BettyCruiser Posted February 22, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Last summer I paid $75 per person each way, $150 per person round trip FCO to the ship and back.
loeb Posted February 22, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Last May it was $75 per person. We selected this option even though it was more expensive than booking it with a private company, but we had a flight to the USA at 11:30 am and wanted to make sure we were off the ship early. There was no problem, took a little less than a hour to get to FCO.

On other cruise, we always did the express so wonder if it is worth waiting for the bus to load up. Thanks
Mr. Click Posted August 10, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2017 We have booked with RomeCabs on our Rome trips. Great service, early departure is no problem. Forming a small group from our roll call made the cost very reasonable. If you are really concerned with being first off the ship do an express departure and carry your own luggage off so then you are not spending the time looking for it once you are off the ship. Also keep in mind that Celebrity's transfers are big buses and they don't like to start them off until a bus is full. One last note, I believe that you can now use your OBC from Celebrity for excursions, specialty restaurants etc when pre-booking.
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted August 25, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 25, 2017 It was $75 pp, which was ridiculous compared to going private or semi-private. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

shipgeeks Posted September 2, 2017 #11 Share Posted September 2, 2017 We have, and considered the extra $ worth it for the peace of mind. First off the ship, nice roomy bus, no question of being taken to the correct terminal, baggage assistance once there. The first time we did it, we got to the airport before the airline counter opened!
mickey89 Posted September 3, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 3, 2017 We often use the €20/pp coach provided via www.smartcruisetours.com - excellent providing your flight is later than 12.30. They also provide a coach FCO to the Port for a similar price.
