Mobile Passport App

Worked great at Port Everglades on Feb 19th when we got off the ship. Very quick once they showed us the very short line to go to. You do need to present your passport along with your smart phone.

I noticed that in a February 1, 2017, Cruise Compass from the Allure, RCI is promoting the Mobile Passport but makes two major mistakes. First, it states that Mobile Passport is available for US passport holders but neglects to mention that is also available for Canadian passport holders. Similarly, it states that the app is only available for iDevices, when in fact it has been available for Android devices for quite some time. Time for RCI to update the information that they are providing to passengers.

downloaded earlier and completed as we docked in ft Lauderdale. Once you fill in all info it will ask if you are ready or need to save and finish later. Also be sure to complete the old paper form just in case.

Just downloaded the Mobile Passport App in anticipation for our trip on the FOS out of Port Everglades - Thanks for the tip CC members !!

We had downloaded the app, but the customs lady directed us to a regular line even though we told her we had the mobile passport. She said, "It doesn't matter, Get in this line". Needless to say, we followed her very firm directions. We had a short wait and got through the regular line, but we never did understand why we weren't allowed to move to the other line. Perhaps she was new. Happy to hear others are having no problem in Port Everglades.

Upon return to POM a couple weeks ago on the Empress, there were no paper forms to fill out any longer.

We just got off ship, (no GE or Mobile line here) showed the Customs agent our passport and gave a “verbal affirmation”.

 

First time in 20 years plus I did not fill out a declarations form upon return to the country.

I used mobile passport off of harmony in October in FLL. No problems, really quick hardly any line. Highly recommend.

The app didn't work for me when I used it in Jan

 

We tried to use the app after our December cruise on Serenade. It would not work, even after I deleted the app and went through the whole process, including pics, again. Same thing happened to the couple ahead of us in the customs line, which was over an hour long at that point, leading me to believe that the failure may have been widespread that day. We landed on a Friday after an 11-day cruise, so maybe the somewhat nonstandard landing day was a factor:rolleyes:? BTW, there was no fee involved in using the app. We have an earlier flight than I had hoped for on our Allure cruise in September, but are in a suite so will use the concierge escort. I don't trust that app any more.

I used it off of harmony in Miami 2017 so it’s obviously in use at more ports.

As far as I know, Harmony never sailed from Miami - only PE. And, there's no Miami (cruise port) choice when you open the app.

Despite the fact that they talked-up the mobile passport app in the disembarkation video and paperwork, it was not used this morning int Ft Lauderdale for the Allure.

 

However, if you flashed a global traveler card, they moved you to the front of the line.

You are so right! Got my cruises mixed up. I’m working too hard and really need another cruse soon. Thanks for correcting. Happy travels.
