Room Keys

You'll get a 'room key' for everyone staying in your cabin. They are also the way that you pay for just about everything on the ship. For the most part, everything is cashless. If you have family in another room, they can give you a key for the other room as well.

You can actually go to guest services and get additional cards which will only open the doors and cannot be used for charging. We have done it many times with our children.

Good luck!

Ha! That happened to me on the last cruise. We're approaching Platinum so I know the ropes. Left for dinner and we both forgot our room keys in our cabin. Knew EXACTLY where they were so told GS they weren't lost. Think I showed my driver's license and they made a room only key for me on the spot.

I've locked myself out before. Luckily my room steward was close by and he let me in [emoji4].

It's not like a hotel. As others said everyone gets a sign and sail card at check in that is used to access your room, they swipe it when you eat at a restaurant, they swipe it every time you get on and off the ship, and it's used to pay for anything you buy on the ship.

If you need keys to another room (because it's a kids room or because you didn't book people into the room their are sleeping in due to kids or cheers) you can go to guest services and have an extra room key made. But you will still need your original card for charging and getting on and off the ship.
