All cruises that are 7 nights or longer will feature two Evening Chic nights. Any cruise 6-nights or shorter will feature one Evening Chic night. All other nights of the cruise will feature Smart Casual attire. Celebrity Xpedition will continue to feature casual attire for the entire cruise.

Zero formal nights. Formal nights were eliminated.

Two Evening Chic nights on 15-night cruises per Celebrity's website; however, some ships have bumped it up to three Evening Chic nights on 15-night cruises.

We have been on 4 different ships since the change and every itinerary of 12 nights or more has had 3 Evening Chic nights- some times only 2 days apart. This is another case of what the website says isn't what happens on the ships.

As a requirement they were eliminated, but some still choose to dress up, especially for photos. Some people's interpretation of 'evening chic' is rather interesting.

Husband still thinks he needs to bring a sport coat on our Caribbean cruise later this year.

I keep telling him I think his Hawaiian type shirts would be ok for "chic" dress. He has a couple that aren't really loud or tropical looking. Would wear them with nice dress slacks. Is this what most are doing or are there still lots of coats on special evenings. Welcome your ideas.

That's largely because Celebrity can't seem to define what it is...They can't even get right how many chic nights there should be...

Whichever he prefers to wear will be fine.

On our recent Caribbean cruises we saw great variety in the range of dress styles on the chic nights, from one extreme to the other.

The extremes (both high end and low end) were a small minority, with most passengers dressed somewhere in the middle.

About half the men wore a jacket of one kind or another (a mix of sport coats, some suits, a few tuxedos) on the first chic night.

Fewer men bothered to wear any kind of jacket on the second chic night. Most just wore a nice shirt with trousers of one type or another.

Those wearing jeans were mainly the younger passengers.

The way that one of the hotel directors described it, chic night is intended to be an opportunity for people to dress to express their individuality, not for everyone to dress alike.
