RedRover96 Posted March 15, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Yep that worked before the new boarding procedures, will it work now, not worth the pre-cruise stress for me (and really for my DW having to deal with me over it :D)
sverigecruiser Posted March 15, 2017 #27 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Make it so you can book online pre-cruise. Open up offering at same time for all cabin categories; say 45 days before sailing. That doesn't give everyone the same chance because not everyone can log in at the exact moment when the passes are released.
Rare natefish95 Posted March 15, 2017 #28 Share Posted March 15, 2017 I literally was the third person through the turnstile from Terminal C, my wife was second, and another guy was first. My wife and the other guy ran, I walked really fast with other guys wife. True to form, all of us had to be present to get the numbers. There was a lot of Pats fans on the cruise for the Super Bowl, including an obnoxious travel agent arguing with the port personnel that he had 30 people there promised Vibe passes. I was pissed off, and glad to see none of those shenanigans were indeed rewarded with Vibe. As for others on here telling others to complain loudly enough to get passes, my three experiences with Escape Vibe have yielded no truth to that claim. Sent from my iPhone using Forums As a Falcons fan, that makes me doubly happy that those Pats fans didn't get passes haha. When did you arrive to the port? julie3fan Posted March 15, 2017 #31 Share Posted March 15, 2017 As long as the Haven has no adults only area Haven guests must be able to book Vibe, I think. Do you have any suggestion how NCL could handle it so that everyone got an equal chance to get them? Maybe done as a lottery? Place your name on a list by xxx time, then all names get thrown in the hat, so to speak. Those names pulled have xxx time to pay for their pass, or they forfeit the pass, which then go to a second draw, or some such method.
Rileyz Posted March 15, 2017 #32 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Agreed Sent from my iPhone using Forums I think Haven guests that book more than 90 days out should have first shot at the vibe passes via phone or Internet, reason being they are paying full price for a haven suite. Then everyone else should have equal access at the 45 day mark. I do think paying 10-12k for a cabin should count for something.

I wonder the same thing. Price them high enough that people won't stampede, argue and race only to be disappointed and low enough that those who really want them can and will pay for them. Rare BirdTravels Posted March 15, 2017 #36 Share Posted March 15, 2017 Its's about time that NCL is giving priority boarding (and priority access to the Vibe) to it's frequent travelers. Priority boarders can sleep in, and arrive just before boarding, and get a pass.

Why not? Make it be XYZ time, EST where NCL Headquarters is. If someone lives in a different time zone, they have to plan accordingly. isn't that how Disney does fastpasses for any given day? open them up 60 or 90 days out at a set time? Rare BirdTravels Posted March 16, 2017 #39 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Wow. I don't know if that thought process builds loyalty from more infrequent or younger cruisers who have not built up that same equity..... Perking your frequent travelers is what keeps them loyal. They are more likely to return (at any price) than the "infrequent and younger cruisers" only booking bargains. The same is true for airlines, hotels, and car rental companies. We get free upgrades to first class on planes because we are frequent flyers. Free upgrades to suites and free dining in hotels because we are frequent hotel guests. Free upgrades to Suburbans for the price of a compact car because we are frequent car renters. Would we pay a little more than the dirt cheapest stateroom, airline seat, hotel room, car rental in the market to get substantially perked,,,, you bet. (The psychology works on the weak minded travelers like us.) And we are happy that NCL is beginning to recognize that loyalty like other travel industry partners. And read all of the posts of people trying to get enough points to move up to the next tier of Latitudes. The psychology works on NCL too.

tumblew467 Posted March 16, 2017 #41 Share Posted March 16, 2017 If you can't get Vibe passes just chill on the other side of the same deck. Not too many find it, plenty of loungers, hot tub, view forward, bar, misting shower, even an upper sun deck. Not loud or too busy out there. Not same as Vibe, but no cost if you can't get those Vibe tickets. Hi , what ship is this on
bbryan5 Posted March 16, 2017 #42 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I keep hearing mixed things.. On Breakaway, are the passes at Guest Services, or Headliners?
kayjay76 Posted March 17, 2017 #43 Share Posted March 17, 2017 Do you have any suggestion how NCL could handle it so that everyone got an equal chance to get them? One thing I can think of is doing a lottery process. Use the same process used to get Vibe passes now but instead make it a lottery. Ex: if you want Vibe, head down to headliners and put your cabin # in. After all boarding is done, they can draw names and if you have put in for Vibe, you can head to guest services at a designated time to see if you were picked. Now I know there will be downfalls to this too such as what if you have more than 1 cabin in your group, if you have parents split up in cabins, etc etc. But all methods have flaws. Could also do booking online, 90 days out. first come first book, directly thru your NCL account online.
sverigecruiser Posted March 17, 2017 #44 Share Posted March 17, 2017 But all methods have flaws. I think that the way they do it now has the least flaws. I think that it's fair that people paying a lot extra for a suite shall have that extra advantage.
boopsahoy Posted March 17, 2017 #45 Share Posted March 17, 2017 They could do it like Carnival does faster to the fun. They release 10-15 every once in a while. You really have to stalk the website but at least everyone gets equal chance. Although I am not adverse to Haven being given early access to a percentage of the passes-not all of them. Only Haven passengers which are early have the advantage so Haven passengers should't be a big problem. When boarding has started the advantage is gone. cage keeper Posted March 17, 2017 #47 Share Posted March 17, 2017 On Breakaway in 2 days and yes, I had hoped to get these passes. Then I explained to hubby why I wanted to be in NY by 8:30 and he thought we don't need them. We have the large balcony. So you all make me feel better about not stressing and running for these. Thank you.
