Everything.. Norwegian BLISS! - launch April 2018 -

Recommended Posts

Since I didn't see the deck plans. Can someone tell me if there is an indoor pool? Or maybe send me the deck plans??

The "unofficial" deck plans showed a pool setup quite similar to the other BA/BA+ ships, with the only indoor pool in the Haven area.

The main pool (and family pool) showed some interesting tweaks to the shape, but nothing as drastic as the garden setup on the Joy.

Spice H2O showed a larger water feature in lieu of the Grotto area. Possibly similar to what was added on the Joy...

The reality of the internet sets in. You cannot unsee what you've seen, right? You are all so excited about the specifics. Truth is this is such an exciting time for a cruise line - announcing deck plans and new spaces on board their newest build! Yes, they are a huge corporation but could not exist without people -- and people make mistakes so I'd like to think that you all -- Cruise Critic members and Norwegian Cruise Line lovers would give them an opportunity to share this with you all in the way they intended. I know they are listening in, so continue your Norwegian Bliss chatter! Thanks for your cooperation, you all rock!

Laura

To Laura and NCL this thread speaks volumes. It shows how much we love cruising. It shows how much we love NCL and all that it has to offer. After many CCL trips I tried NCL (The Epic). Now that I see the layout of "The Bliss" it is apparent NCL listens to their customers.

I am a young 60 years old, at least I tell myself that, and I have never been involved in anything like this. I have never been so excited to see something being built / revealed to the public.

Laura thanks so much for the job you do, I love it here.

NCL thanks for the product you provide. My cruise on the Epic has provided me with many great memories and put many smiles on my face.....now if I could only recover some of the money I left in the casino, just kidding.

Wasn't this ship supposed to geared toward Alaska? Does anybody see a change, or venue that screams Alaska to you? I thought they'd at least have a retractable roof over the main pool so it could be used in bad weather. Very disappointed.

Certainly the large observation lounges allow more people to take in the sights from a sheltered environment.

Beyond that - I guess we need to wait and see what's revealed.

It seems to me that moving Le Bistro to an upper deck would be geared towards Alaska. Le Bistro currently doesn't offer outside views on any of the new ships. I keep picturing something like the amazing views from the Italian restaurant at the front of Epic.

The forward observation lounges will make it easier to see Alaska no matter what the weather. The removal of 2 DOS and all OS in the Haven (replaced by the Haven observation lounge) is a big deal. Think of how much those 6 suites bring in per cruise.

The spa looks to be larger so perhaps a larger indoor pool is there, too.

The phallic-shaped pool/hot tub (whatever it is) in Spice H2O looks like it might be partially or fully covered which could be a nice area to chill (no pun intended) with a drink while in Alaska....or while leaving Miami in the winter.

I too missed the deck plans but from reading some posts, did I see that Howl at the Moon is gone? Could it still be offered in a nightclub or venue?

I was recently on the Getaway and we went to Howl nearly every night!

I think there's a good possibility; it seems to be very popular. It could be they dropped the name due to having to pay a franchise type fee. They could do the same concept with equal success and rename it.

The larger observation lounge is huge. On our two previous Alaska cruises one of the things that bugged me was the lack of seating in the buffet on sea days. This was mainly attributed to the folks--who I assume were booked in inside cabins--who would camp-out in the buffet at window tables and stay there all day reading books, playing games, viewing scenery etc.

I'm hopeful the observation lounge has the window seating capacity to help alleviate the buffet serving as the quasi observation lounge and instead the buffet serves as a eating establishment with a view.

I am booked on a Caribbean sailing in march 2019. I got a mini suite right by the observation lounge. I figure that would be convenient for lounging and drinking bushwhackers without having to go very far. The only thing that would make it better is if they served some sort of food there.

Very disappointed? Your kidding right? The hull art is Alaska themed maybe. Just like the BA is NYC themed, the Escape is whatever themed. Alaska cruises have a very limited window, the ship will spend more than half the year in warmer climates

Thanks for posting this H2O Bliss potential/hopeful Hot Tub from the Joy @TheDougOut! I've been combing thru the internet trying to find an example to have a better idea of what it looks like. Here's to hoping it is a Hot Tub because we loovveee to just sit and relax with a Toasted Almond in hand!

Also, thank you for just being so awesome and entertaining!
