FIVE cocktails? How long is this show? (And I guess I should ask how big are the "cocktails"?)

I am guessing (hoping?) they are shot size, otherwise I won't remember anything about the show...and then I'll have to go see it again...and again...;)

Our first! We’re flying over on Wednesday, with one night in London before heading over to Southampton Friday morning. We have a pub gathering @ Duke of Wellington Friday night... and then a few hours of not sleeping before...

The 12" panels seem to be intended more for permanent installations. The 24 inch ones are emerging as the standard. The advantage to the 36" panels is portability. It literally takes our crew of three about 10 minutes to set up a 3 x 5 panel grid, provided the frame remains (or is already) in place. All it requires is a stable 9' x 15' (or 12' x 18' or larger) foot exterior frame. I've seen frames that break down quickly for transport as well, and can be flown from rigging points.

It would make some sense for NCL to go this route, since the wall can be deployed in other venues as needed, or even just a portion of it. For example: The 12' x 18' grid can break down into two independant 9' x 12' individual screens for use in multiple places at once.

 

That makes a lot of sense. I’m not a video guy (it’s not just a screen name ;)) but I work with them sometimes. We built the video wall when the Disney Magic? Or Fantasy? was christened. It was several years ago now, can’t remember which one it was. It was at Port Canaveral, and I remember that Jennifer Hudson was there because she used to perform on DCL when she was a child. Dream, maybe?

 

It was before I was a cruise addict, so the details escape me, lol.

 

It was the Dream! Found a video of the christening! If you skip to the end you’ll see the big champagne bottle being flown by the helicopter? Well, the small champagne bottle was a backup in case it was to windy for the ‘copter. At the last minute, they decided that wanted to use both, so I was the guy that had to pull the cord for the little bottle to ‘break’ and confetti to come out. Something went wrong and the bottle didn’t break. The cord holding the bottle broke, lol. In the video, after they break away to the long shot, you can see the bottle hit the water, lol. This is why I hate live productions, lolol. No one noticed or cared, so no harm no foul, but god, I hate live shows. :D :D :D.
