Rare APDMOM Posted April 5, 2017 Author #101 Share Posted April 5, 2017 We decided to let the crowds leave the ship first, while we enjoyed a game of minigolf. TIP: If you are not in a hurry to an excursion, give about 30 minutes for the crowds to clear the ship and port area a bit. moopetguy Posted April 5, 2017 #102 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Hey, there's nothing wrong with pictures of a shipping dock...call me a square, a nerd, etc. but I think a shipping dock is interesting :D Also...that slide looks Abyssmal...;) Just kidding, if I ever sail on Harmony, I am sure I will try it. And will probably like it a lot, too. Really enjoying your review and thanks for the photos!
Rare APDMOM Posted April 5, 2017 Author #103 Share Posted April 5, 2017 I like the long docks in St. Maarten where you can walk all the way to the front to get a picture of the ship: TIP: Another great thing about leaving the ship a little later is that you get a turn much faster in front of this sign… :) Otherwise, there is usually a long line. My favorite people on the cruise: I love the flags that welcome us to St. Maarten! Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare APDMOM Posted April 5, 2017 Author #104 Share Posted April 5, 2017 TIP: There are basically three ways to get to the town of Philipsburg. One is by water taxi, one is by regular taxi, or you can walk (just under a mile to reach the shopping). We have never walked there, but we were told it is an easy walk. Our favorite way is to take the ‘all day’ water taxi pass ($7): The line beyond these dolphins is a line for the water taxi. It has never taken us longer than about 10 minutes to board the water taxi: Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare APDMOM Posted April 5, 2017 Author #105 Share Posted April 5, 2017 Since we had toured St. Maarten several times in the past, we decided to spend the rest of the day on the ship. So, I will cheat a bit and post a few pictures from our previous visits to St. Maarten: French side: Marigot Dutch side: Philipsburg TIP: There are beach umbrellas and chairs to rent on the beach in Philipsburg. The other nice thing is that there is a lot of shopping right by the beach. So, if you have a large family group, the shoppers and beach bums can all be happy. Rare APDMOM Posted April 5, 2017 Author #106 Share Posted April 5, 2017 My View: Leaving St. Maarten behind Aida Luna: Ahem. (Speaking behind hand) “That is a Carnival sweatshirt.” But you did not hear it from me. Sent from my iPad using Forums

It was pretty interesting watching dump trucks drive onto the ship to deliver dirt.

I think we will try walking next time it is "cool" enough. We like the water taxi too, though! It gives a different perspective while approaching Philipstown from the water. Rare APDMOM Posted April 6, 2017 Author #116 Share Posted April 6, 2017 I forgot to post one of my favorite views in St. Maarten, so let's backtrack for a moment: Here are the corner aft balconies with their numbers on the port side. The starboard side has similar numbering, except the second digit becomes a 4 (e.g. 7708 is 7408 on starboard side): Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare APDMOM Posted April 6, 2017 Author #119 Share Posted April 6, 2017 We have been to St. Kitts a few times, so today was a ship day. We did step off to take a few pictures and to buy some tropical shirts. TIP: If you like tropical shirts, stop by Lazy Lizard, just as you exit security at the port area (to the right). They had the best prices we had ever seen in the Caribbean. RIMA is the best brand that we have found. Here is the shop (with the yellow canopy): TIP: Look for this label for good quality shirts: Ship-on-the-Rocks: Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare APDMOM Posted April 6, 2017 Author #120 Share Posted April 6, 2017 It was a nice and relatively quiet day on the ship. I had the cantilevered whirlpool all to myself… Okay, I admit, I only got in there for a few pictures. :D We prefer the cool water in the pool. Rare APDMOM Posted April 6, 2017 Author #121 Share Posted April 6, 2017 A note about St. Kitts: I did an island tour during one of our previous trips. It was well worth the cost and I recommend a tour, as there is not much to do close to the port - at least as far as we have found. A final view of St. Kitts: Goodbye, Seaborn Odyssey! (and the lips of Aida Luna) Leaving St. Kitts in our wake: In the evening, we went to see the Juggling/Comedy act of Marcus Monroe. It was very entertaining with excellent ad lib humor! Rare APDMOM Posted April 6, 2017 Author #122 Share Posted April 6, 2017 That was short and sweet for today.
