Phatferd Posted April 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2017 I'm currently booked for a regular balcony room for my honeymoon and was offered a Grand Suite upgrade for $540 flat rate (no added fees or taxes) for a 7 day cruise. Does this seem like a fair offer?

joepeka Posted April 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted April 11, 2017 (edited) $270 per person on a seven day itin for an upgrade from a balcony to a GS? Yes, definitely it's a good deal. We've been in GS's on several CCL ships (including Miracle) and they are nice - no real perks (others than priority check-in and boarding) but still nice for the upgrade price you're paying. :) Edited April 11, 2017 by joepeka

Rare sparks1093 Posted April 12, 2017 #14 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Yes, I would have jumped at that. I am looking for an opportunity to upgrade our premium balcony to a suite and I could do that right now for about the same amount of money, so if they offer it for less I'll be all over it. ItsAllAboutTheSass Posted April 12, 2017 #15 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Go for it. Taxes and fees are flat rates for the cruise not based on cabin category with the exception of gratuities.
Port of Tampa Posted April 12, 2017 #16 Share Posted April 12, 2017 Fore sure. Love the GS and once you cruise in one they do become addicting. Cheers and have a great cruise.
cmukid87 Posted April 12, 2017 #17 Share Posted April 12, 2017 I would have snatched that up too. Considering I could then dump FTTF it takes the price down to under $500.

Phatferd Posted April 12, 2017 Author #20 Share Posted April 12, 2017 How is this an upgrade if you have to pay for it? When you buy a car, you pay for upgrades. If I need a new computer, I'm buying an upgrade.
bingomamma19 Posted April 12, 2017 #21 Share Posted April 12, 2017 How is this an upgrade if you have to pay for it? Why do people think upgrade means free? It doesn't at all. You can upgrade many things, almost always at an additional cost.
cruzkitty Posted April 12, 2017 #22 Share Posted April 12, 2017 You will love your Grand Suite! We had one in October on the Carnival Freedom and really enjoyed the extra space, especially in the Bathroom. Also loved the Balcony! Congratulations and enjoy your cruise!
